Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [20th - 24th April 2012]

Of course not, the top clubs don't carry players (certainly in midfield) who have an inability to get involved in the passage of play on the off chance that they may or may not crack one in from 30 yards on a very rare occasion

Cabaye has made a total of 1210 passes with 928 of those being successful
Modric has made a total of 2111 passes with 1812 of those being successful

That's almost 1000 more in both categories in Modric's favour. I can't believe anyone would be stupid enough to even suggest that the two players are close in terms of ability and influence on the pitch. I wouldn't mind but before today Cabaye's seemingly more effectiveness equalled 1 goal less (1 goal more now) and 1 more assist (2 more now if he got an assist today) in the PL so there's hardly a landslide in Cabaye's favour there either :o

Numbers like that are pretty meaningless without stating how many minutes this season each player had played though.

Oh and I can be ;)

Liverpool would have a better chance of doing Barcelona over two legs than Newcastle would :p

We can comfortable in the thought the we couldn't do any worse than manU v Barca in recent history.

To be honest if we make CL next year it would be difficult to be any worse than the joke ManU made of themselves this year ;)

Seriously, how did Giggs and Carrick controlling the midfield go for you against Newcastle..... oh wait. Again touching the ball a lot does NOT equal control, or quality, in fact, when your two central midfielders touch the ball loads and you lose and your players upfront aren't getting the ball enough it suggests something to me.

Cabaye found a way to get the ball to his front men, who scored, and your midfielders could not find a way through, so passed sideways... and lost.

Actually lets have a guess, who had more passes, more successful passes, and more key passes against Utd this season, Cabaye who has won 3-0, or Modric who lost both games to Utd?

Cabaye v Man Utd - Total passes 22, Accurate passes 15
Modric v Man Utd - Total passes 48, Accurate passes 41

Cabaye didn't assist Ba's goal nor was he involved in Jones' OG either which makes your entire argument moot also.

Yes you could

If you finish 4th it'll take nothing less than an easy draw for you to even make it out of the qualifiers ;)

It's Toms world get used to it he would be a great politician as he avoids the debate and spouts his chosen line religiously. Some posters get a bad rep in here but if you watch its obvious who the bad ones are. Contributes nothing except ManU love and darts at other clubs.
