I agree with Jamie Redknapp on this one, possession stat is a pretty pointless stat really that football media has gotten too hung up on. As he said yesterday, its an irrelevant stat because it doesnt matter how much of the ball you have, it matters what you do with it. If you have 20% of the ball in a match but in that time you score 3 goals then thats more important than having it 80% of the time and just passing it back and forth

Incidentally, if you get battered then you are going to have quite a bit of possession from all the times you've had to kick off again.

Spurs are so good. Unlucky not to have a PL title. It’ll be between City and Spurs, Spurs play the same even with injuries where as us without Pogba have crumbled.
Agreed, it annoys me especially as Arsenal tend to keep the ball a lot but they don’t much with it ie score plenty of goals. I mean if you have over 60% of the ball and you still end up losing. That just proves that it’s a meaningless stat, you have the ball all that time and don’t manage to win the game etc b
