Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [21st - 24th Jan 2012]

Ballotelli should certainly be banned, I think he is a lost cause tbh.

I didn't see the Lescott incident, was it bad? (i watched the whole game, did they not make an issue of it?)

Whoever he whacked went down, can't remember who, basically he came out the ball got cleared the Spurs player, Kaboul I think, was just off to his right, there was basically no need to do anything but he brought his arm up, to his right far enough that it wasn't an accident and smashed him in the neck with his forearm/elbow.

It wasn't particularly nice.

I think he and Ballotelli deserve a ban, and so does that patch of grass that knocked Theo Walcott out...... though in all honesty maybe we should employ it as a motivational tool, Walcott actually passed to some team mates for a few minutes after he got up :p

He's being ironic as I didn't buy goal.com actually had a legit scoop, but given Frank's record of reporting things that website says law of averages says he has to have got one right sooner or later

What's the saying? Throw enough **** and some of it sticks :p

I love Balotelli, he's awesome. Yet that stamp should get him 3 games minimum. The trouble is it wouldn't be very consistent with other missed incidents that then go unpunished.

Then again it's only a spurs player, you should be able to curb stomp them gears of war style for fun.

I agree balotelli is a legend, although song and ramsey got a few good hits on rooney today, justice all round :p

The trouble is, you can stamp on a players head and only get a 3 game ban (it will actually be a 4 game ban as it would be his 2nd red card of the season), the same as if you pushed somebody or done what Barton done. It's ridiculous.

Balotelli should be banned for the season for what he done.

Be fair Tom, he only said it was being reported. It was you that rubbished it because Fergie said so :p

Tbf, it is unlike Fergie to not tell the truth about injuries ;)

No I rubbished it because it's goal.com and most of what Frank reports is rubbish (like the billion times he's came on here reporting that the club are selling Vidic)

Granted though I am surprised Fergie omitted to inform the media that Ferdinand would miss the game given the injury occurred Wednesday and from the impression that was gave today he was always going to miss the game (as oppose to it being touch and go). It makes sense to claim players won't make a game and then include them (like Arsenal did with Vermaelen) not sure what there is to gain by doing the opposite (I'm sure it probably came as no shock to Arsenal that Ferdinand wasn't playing anyway)

Good game and needed result for man utd.

Interesting to see wenger throw a big man up front at the end here. Welbeck had a good game but as Ferguson said, he could have had many more today. That one at the end when he tried to cut it inside and fell over. Lol.

Manchester City should have had Lescott and Bolochelli sent off. Hope the FA punish them retrospectively.

Just had to laugh at King not being able to crouch down at the end, and had to go down on one knee! :D
