Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [21st - 26th March 2014]

"Referees are reminded that deliberately handling the ball is normally punished only by a direct free-kick or penalty kick if the offence occurred inside the penalty area."

"A caution or dismissal is not normally required."

Those are the rules apparently according to bbc.

Surely you have to engage your brain though and if its heading into the net its a red card? Its the same as slicing someone down through on goal

Failure now to win the fa cup and that may well happen, him deciding to leave i mean.

Doubt he will be sacked.

The board wont sack him though but he may decide enough is enough and walk on his own. Which if we do not win the FA Cup would be the right thing to do, he has taken us as far as he can and his transfer dealings lately have become a complete shambles.

Jan time was the best chance to get a striker in, even Draxler but no Wenger didnt want to pay the money to get a decent player in. Instead he goes and signs a no name bargain basement player on loan who cant play due to a fracture in his back...its ****ing hilarious that is.

People should have noticed the missing Gibbs for the first 2 goals and the penalty. He was caught up the pitch where he shouldn't have been.

Cazorla gave the ball away cheaply for the second goal, and they blamed Kos for backing off but that is because Gibbs should have been there making the tackle/pressing the player with Kos as the back up. Kos couldn't commit himself because there was no cover. Gibbs was truly shocking in the till he got the sympathetic red card from the ref. He has all season and for 3 years done the same, his positioning is terrible, for someone to push so far forward against such a good side in a situation in which there is not even a good chance the ball will make it forward is disgraceful. He's pushed forward to support before the ball has even gotten forward and been caught out. Kos/Mert weren't great today but they were given exactly no cover at all by both fullbacks, the entire midfield.
