Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [22 - 26th December 2012]

According to SSN, hes not being punished by the FA for his antics over the weekend.

Amazing, you couldnt make this shizzle up even if you tried.

The FA really are a bunch of turds at the best of times.

Mike Dean didn't acknowledge his protest in his report so the FA can't actually do anything. If he did, then the FA can act. Fergie manipulates the referees in all games and when he leaves his post, United will be fairly judged again.

Funny thing is Redknapp and whoever the other manager was, Mancini I think, who acted like ***** will probably be punished though.

It's a joke but I'm not in the least surprised.

Because if Mike Dean did, then he would be saying goodbye to his career! Can't blame the guy really. I'm just glad he gave the goal, that took giant balls at Old Trafford with Ferguson in the dugout!!!

yeh exactly haha! Of course he 'forgot' to mention it in his report after giving that goal ;)

This is a fair (and correct) examination of it all but I can imagine the amount you chaps would be ranting if we had got a draw out of the game :p

The law needs updated/changed to reflect situations like this.

I'd have lost the plot for sure. :D

It just doesn't make any sense, I remember this from last season:

That goal just highlights why the offside rule is stupid at the moment. Sanchez turns the ball round the corner to Fabregas, who is miles offside, but the Real defender is forced to make a clearance on the stretch which goes straight to Xavi who then scores. How is Fabregas not interfering with play if he is forcing the defender to make a last ditch clearance?!

If the defender misses his clearance it benefits his side, just as it would have benefited Evans had he missed the ball. That's a ludicrous situation.

I cant believe people are this simple.

What do you think happens to referees if they give decisions against United or Ferguson.

Examples of when a referee has done this and its adversely effected their career please.

If you can find anything along the lines of say, Chelsea and its fans ending the career of 2 referees and trying to end the career of a third, I'll accept you have a point.

Yeah, all these ex referees that have come out and said fergie gets preferential treatment or they are blacklisted are clearly making it up eh

Yeah, so its nonsense like we've already established like a thousand times before on here.

If you are going to post in this forum, stick to commentating on what actually happens in the real world, other than than the made up fairy land nonsense that goes on in you and your bitter butt hurt fans heads as you go to ever increasingly loony lengths to explain why your own team is so ****ing rubbish.

Can someone remind me what manager it was that actually shoved a forth official and then had to apologize afterwards? I seem to have forgotten :/

Touched a nerve :D

To be fair the link was rubbish, but it is a bit strange how Fergie gets away with it everytime and he clearly does influence the refs despite how much you may want to deny it.

Fergie does get away with some things he shouldn't. Anyway, the pardew thing was rather silly. It looked like he didn't even realise the linesman was there.

Anyone that has been in any job as long as Fergie has will be afforded more leway than someone who has been in the same job for 5 minutes.

It's not fair, but it happens in pretty much every profession.

There are plenty of managers that have had a blast at the referee/officials. Seen Pardew, Allardyce, Moyes, Pulis, Mancini and Wenger do it recently, yet nobody ever says that they have influenced things for some reason.

The players themselves do a lot worse whilst on the pitch as well. Maloney in the Everton-Wigan game was all over the ref after the penalty shout and he didn't even get carded. Pretty sure Van Persie did something similar as well in the game against Swansea after the ball was smashed into his head.

AM I missing something, the commentators decided they were completely out of order, then they decided that Stone and two other guys having a go later were completely out of order till a replay showed Valencia's tackle and they started saying, oh, they might have a point he should have a second yellow at the very least.

Did Fergie not have a bit of a rant before the match kicked off, and since when don't MOST managers spend ages throughout the entire match shouting at the fourth official?

There are far better things to get worked up over in a football match than an old man telling a ref his handling of a goal call was ridiculous. Not least because Fergie is right and how the ref can't decide Cisse massively influenced what Evans did was interfering with play is pretty terrible reffing.

We've seen penalty after penalty given or denied that were woeful decisions, punches, head butts, elbows, stamps, kicks, dives go unpunished, but the old guy ranting at a ref is big news all of a sudden? I don't like Fergie, I think he's lost the plot and is firmly in Wenger style decline with the team getting worse for years(but started later than Wenger, had a better squad to start with and little real competition), but unless Fergie punches/shoves/kicks the ref, I don't care in the slightest.
