Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [22nd - 28th December 2017]

we made it interesting all you've done is made it interesting for the remaining 3 of 4 and you've spent buckets to do so. atleast city spent buckets and will win the league and play in style

But you are far worse at the moment, so your point is terrible.

so it's ok for united fans to point fingers when you were terrible the past few seasons? and let's be honest, it's the likes of spurs, arsenal, liverpool not being on top form that is making you look good. even you're not convinced. how many games have you won unconvincingly? spurs for one and as i said you've spent buckets of £ not a million miles off what city have spent i'd guess and city play far far superior stuff to you, in 2nd place

Where have I said we're great? I haven't. For the money spent things have been very poorly planned and are bordering on shambolic, but we are still second and that's probably about right considering how bad everyone else is.

City have just been exceptionally good, it would have been closer in previous seasons I imagine.

Probably the worst thing for Spurs is Real Madrid being in this form, they will spend a horrific amount to try and recapture form/win the fans over.

I was thinking that earlier, both Real Madrid and Barca could do with a few big signings, the squads look tired.

i'd define that as an embarassment

It works for him and it's not a criticism but he has a shoot on sight policy. He takes almost twice as many shots per game as anybody else in the league.

I still find him strange, he's obviously an excellent striker but watching him I'm not sure he's as good as his reputation suggests. He just seems... awkward. Difficult to argue with his stats though.

He has no outstanding quality. He's not got the technical ability as an Aguero, he's not got blistering pace nor is he a man mountain. He has a little bit of everything though, works incredibly hard and most importantly he knows how to make the most of his ability. The last point is summed up with his shoot on sight tactic - he knows if he keeps getting shots away he's going to score, especially against poorer sides where you get lots of half chances and poorer keepers. I'm not sure it's the best tactic at the highest level though when half chances/attacking opportunities are limited and keepers are better.

not as good as his reputation suggests? he'll beat shearers record from 1995 this year i reckon. that's 1995. awkward or not maybe because he doesn't look like a modern day streamlined striker? maybe because he doesn't have tattoo's and a flash hair cut or know how to do a celebratory dance? who cares? he's grounded, english, deadly in front of goal and best of all, he's a nice bloke.

i believe he'll stay at spurs for life. can't see him going abroad.
