Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [23rd - 28th September 2011]

Awh but I thought the league was over?

Get in Stoke! Back into second on GD but no problem with that given who we beat today. Fantastic stuff.

Lol Nani wasteful? He scored a goal out of nothing and created a great chance for Giggs. It seems he must literally win matches single handed to avoid criticism on here.

At least ManU are human, will make the title race more interesting :)

Same as last season tbh where after 5 games Chelski had "won" the league. Daft when people try to call it so early

I can see stoke taking point from quite a few of the "bigger" teams this season.

Mixed feelings really - 1-1 isnt a bad result in many ways but feel we should have beaten Stoke really.

Oh well.

If you read the post correctly, it said "it's an example of".

He scored a great individual goal, but apart from that - he didn't do much else, just like every other player in a United shirt on the pitch.

I think we only created 3 clear chances the whole game, if you think that's acceptable for the quality of players we had on the pitch today then you can feel free to bury your head in the sand and blame the officials.

Point out a player who does everything right every time he gets the ball? That's right there aren't any.

Considering we were playing with our 4th and 5th choice strikers up front I don't think you can be disappointed. We have a lot of players out at the moment and Stoke is a very difficult place to come to.

Explicit how can you say Stoke deserved it then say we should have had a few penalties

No offence, but even the chico one at the start could be debated :) I would hate to be a ref against a team that goes down as easily as some of the united players did today. It's like they're made of tissue.

In fact - one could argue that Stoke had the most clear cut penalty decision denied around the 80th minute with a blatent push in the back - would have been far easier to give that than any of the ManU ones :)

Anyway - good point... I am chuffed with it. I think it is fair, even though we had the more 'clear cut' chances with Crouchy lashing at a few of them. Countered by that Giggs chance at the death though :p

It was a tough game. A game we should have won but a tough game nevertheless. A point is not the end of the world by any means. I agree - stoke are no mugs against the big sides.

De Gea made two fantastic saves. Jones was excellent again and Nani scored another goal of great individual skill - again.

When you look at the woes of Arsenal being put at the feet of Vermaelen and JW being injured we are doing quite nicely considering Vidic and Rio have been out and Rooney and Hernandez were out today.

No complaints.

A poor performance by us today, saying that though Stoke were very good a we easily could have been beaten, hopefully the injuries aren't too bad because we don't look anywhere near as good at the minute.

Yes there aren't any, but as I said, everyone who got themselves behind the Stoke back four were extremely wasteful. I'll highlight the bit in bold:

Mekrel said:
There we have it, classic example of how wasteful we've been when Nani just had the ball on the edge of the area. Cut in and lost the ball when he should have gone outside.

Wasteful we've been (as in the team), not wasteful Nani has been.

Stoke were the better team in the second half, especially the first 10 minutes or so.

Agree with this except we should have had at least 1 penalty, so I'm complaining :p

Perhaps you should learn how to punctuate properly. If you wanted to imply United had been wasteful then you should have put a full stop and started a new sentence, because what you wrote doesn't mean the same thing.

This means you are talking about how wasteful United have been when Nani has the ball on the edge of the area. I think you wanted to write:

My English isn't the best but they both read the same to me, regardless of the full stop

His initial post doesn't read as if he's singled out Nani but as he explained, Utd have been wasteful and that Nani chance was an example of it.

 I think most would agree that there was nothing wrong with the way that I had written it.
