Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [24th - 26th August 2012]

He had his foot taken away. You try running at full pelt and then someone whacks your foot as its hitting the ground. Phil Dowd is a pile of steaming dogs afters, pretty much a joke he still refs in the premiership.

I do play football, and I'm almost certainly quicker than Torres across the ground, since his injuries. That doesn't take you down, not a chance. He's looking for it, just as he did 2 minutes later.

:D

Future world star fo'shure. Lille fans say he hasn't even got going yet.

Probably hasn't got going. Said it from the beginning, he's going to be seriously great in this league. He's has crap loads of talent, but he's also got what would look a disproportionate strength for his size, somewhat like Messi. Very difficult to get the ball off him when he gets moving.

I was actually surprised that there wasnt more of a bidding war for him. Even the very few highlights on youtube showed what a talent he was. Perhaps his flipflopping over destination put clubs off or City didnt have the funds to launch a proper attack.

Purely financial I believe. He's on a big pay packet, and his agent got 6 Million apparently. Chelsea had to open the coffers after last season. City are trying to reign there's in now and reduce the wages, as they hopefully have gained enough positioning to attract talent due to winning the league. Utd won't give an unproven player that amount of money. Of course Chelsea won The Champions League, but in by no means a great footballing fashion, and I'm sure Abramovich's goal to build a team that has attacking flare was part of it. But the money of such a player, was a big factor.

Personally between the 3 clubs, I see good reason's to join all 3 of them.

I thought bids for Hazard were accepted from Chelsea, City and United and then it was up to him to decide who he wanted to play for? Maybe Chelsea offered him a better contract, and I can't really blame him for choosing London over Manchester either, I know where I'd rather live!

Re: Rooney's leg.

It looks bad, but it's nothing from what I've seen in work (glass manufacturing).

Absolutally gutted by Wigan winning, they had 3 chances an scored 2. We had close to 20 and scored 0 :(

Very very poor from us, should have been one up in 10 mins then out of sight. Wigan better go down as they are a lot worse than the top 3rd of the champ...
