Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [24th - 26th August 2012]

Whenever I hear Carragher's name, I have memories of him getting dominated by Lukaku, last weekend... when he seemingly tried to rugby tackle him down, but failed epically!

Carra has always struggled against big, powerful cf's, these days he gets dominated by everyone and their gran though.

Why do you think its a given right that any player should only choose Manchester as a destination to pay football? Hazard doesn't probably support Man U nor does he probably care for their history, why is it so unbelievable he wanted to play in London for a massive club?

You're sounding extremely bitter.

I expect Chelsea do pay him a mad amount but I'm sure Man U could have stomped up a similar wage like they did when Rooney started crying etc

How have you got that I'm bitter from what I said? :o

I'm not bitter at all, I just cant understand why Chelsea fans refuse to face reality over his signing

Hmm not looking forward to todays match against Stoke, i hope we can score some goals but having Mannone in between the sticks isnt something that fills me with great joy.

At least Podolski and Giroud are starting up front although id rather see Podolski on the left with Giroud in the middle.

Just hoping for 3 pts today, its going to be a tough physical game and i wouldnt be surprised if a few of our players get their legs broken or something ;):p

At least Walcott's not playing, and we'll just have to avoid allowing Stoke anywhere near our goal lol, or outscore them............

I think the last time I actually watched Mannone play was in a Champions League game and he was utter **** then too. He's like Fabianski, never seems to make an appearance without producing at least one calamitous error.

So pretty much certain that Stoke will at least score against us then:p.

Praying that both Pod and Giroud score today, we need to get some goals from with them or someone else in the squad. Looking forward to seeing Carzola play again, he was immense against Sunderland last week.

I assume Martinez is Arsenal's 4th/5th choice keeper? Never even heard of him...

Oh god, http://www.arsenal.com/reserves-youth/players/damian-martinez

What happened to James Shea?

I can see Pod cutting in from the right on that front three. Both he and Giroud have a bit of presence which will be nice against Stoke. Diaby might have grown a pair and start using his height.

hahaha sni __ ggers is blocked by the swear filter being of the 'n' word! :D

I dont think thats what he said at all - the decision was taken out of Hazard's hands when City & Utd wouldnt pay the agent what he wanted (Im sure Hazard would have said EXACTLY the same thing had he signed for any of the top teams in the EPL)

Its all done and dusted now, lets just see how Chelase fare against the top teams (no dis-respect to Newcastle, but they still have to prove they can repeat last year's success, and they were playing away - Chelsea have had 3 moderately easy teams to play so far)

It probably was a 'footballing reason', the reason that Chelsea were prepared to sign his brother and City and United weren't.

I'd be happy if I were a Chelsea fan, throwing money everywhere and getting top players, I don't see why some of them get so upset about it when people bring up money, as with many clubs it's a big factor. Especially when you have a player like Hazard who seems to be very money driven with a massive ego - which doesn't matter as his ability justifies both, but still.

Giroud standing there like a lemon! :D I think DM might be a tad right about Diaby, how that guy is on the pitch is amazing!
