Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [24th - 28th October 2014]

Its either a foul or it isn't. No such thing as much of a foul or soft pen unfortunately

Not sure what your point is, I didn't say soft, I'm saying the first wasn't a foul at all, the second I couldn't really tell. It didn't look like a foul either, it actually looked like Ivanovic slipped marginally, put his hand out, marginally touched Di Maria who for like the 5th time in the game threw himself to the floor with incredibly little contact.

I'm saying I don't think the second one looked like a foul but I can't be sure, it wasn't the best angle nor a very close shot.

Aside from that you're completely wrong, as shown by the fact that some fouls only result in a freekick, some in a yellow card, some in a red card. There has and always will be degrees of "fouls". Even if the last one was a foul(not at all convinced) it certainly wasn't a bad foul and considering the first one he got a card for certainly wasn't a foul at all and thus not at all worthy of a yellow card, it's absurd he got a second yellow for that.

Felt so sorry for De Gea after that save, he's way too good for us at the moment, should head back over to Madrid really.

I'm happy with that, I don't think anyone was great for us but we played well as a team and got a deserved point. Chelsea didn't create much outside of Hazard's chance and scored due to a mis-match at set piece marking.

A couple of moments aside the defence looked more assured and our midfield actually did something, which hasn't happened in the past. Fellaini was actually better than Fabregas which was weird. :p

I think if we had Rooney and Falcao we could have won, but it may have been different in they had Costa too (would have been more goals at both ends, I'd say).

Everyone expected us to get hammered (Costa or not) so to actually have come away with a draw and a lot more chances created, no complaints here. Hopefully we can build on this as it's not the games against Chelsea that will matter when it comes to top 4...

Meh, thought the game was pretty crap tbh. After the show yesterday in the El Clasico this game was not very good on quality.

Chelsea did enough to win, they'll be annoyed at that. United will feel like they just got 3 points.

You're still behind us Frank, and we've been ****.

and half our 1st XI missed the 1st three games of the season

We also got a point from the best team in the league, which will not only increase the spirit in the squad but will make next weekend a lot less daunting when we meet City (who arent anywhere near as good as Chelsea)

What was that celebration about then?

Is that a serious question? I wonder if scousers can be objective about football.

We're celebrating because we've drawn against the league leaders with arguable the most complete team in the league. That's why.

We are 3 points/one win off of top 4. Its hardly a dreadful start. I am still quietly confident we will clinch 4th place, especially as all the other top teams are dropping points for fun as well. West Ham and Southampton will run out of steam and i reckon we will only get better as the season goes on.

What was that celebration about then?

1-1 Draw against a team that will no doubt go on to win the league and are carving teams up for fun is no bad result. For good periods in the first half we matched Chelsea.

But I get your point, pretty small time I know. Bit like when players go and kiss the camera like they have won the world cup but in reality won **** all

The celebrations were a bit ott but i dont really see the point in complaining about it. I'm sure almost any team in United's situation would have celebrated like that after scoring a last minute equaliser.

No it was a loaded question. How Utd have fallen when they celebrate like that for a draw at home :p

It's just a bit of fun, there's no need to get upset.

West Ham and Southampton are destined for Europe :p

The Saints will keep marching on.

Until we get to our difficult games maybe :D
