Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [25th - 27th August 2017]

Karius aside, who looked nervous but didn't have much to do, that's about as well as we've played from back to front for a long time. If Karius is to stay in the team, he'll need a few games and a few saves to build confidence and for us to know where we are with him.

Genuinely couldn't pick a MotM today because all of the front 6 were superb but Salah has much an incredible impact so early in to his Liverpool career.

This was so spursy.

We need an attacking signing to bring in some pace. We spent 40mins passing the ball around aimlessly and hoping Burnley would make a mistake.

Squad is stale and going through the motions rather than attacking with intent. Bringing on sissoko does not exactly encourage belief

Arsenal are so soft. They go a goal or two behind and there's no fight or hard graft. Players are walking when they should be running back to cover or put pressure on whoever has the ball. This all stems from the manager. The players don't respect him, nor do they fear him. As said above its no wonder some want to leave. Arsenal will be lucky to get ANY European football this season. Wenger should have bowed out at the end of last season with reputation intact and a trophy. Three games, gone, only three points? The league has been lost by Arsenal already.

I'm no Arsenal fan, but if 3/4 of the crowd at the Emirates isn't screaming for him to be sacked I'll be shocked.

There entire team was, ozil is a good player but he can't make up for 10 others also doing **** all lol

Klopp went over to him and can did too, be interested to know what they said
Probably told him to suck it up buttercup lol. He has been pretty anonymous pretty much in every game this game and seasons before.

Meh we all know the board have no balls to sack Wenger so things will carry on regardless.

What boggles my mind is that we are looking to offload Mustafi now. So cb wise we are truly ****** as it is unless Wenger has some sort of master plan in place.

Anyhow well played by Liverpool, not that I watched any of the game. I knew we were going to get hammered so I didn't see the point of watching the game as it is. But reading the match reports we just didn't look like we wanted to play today.

Ozil is the definition of a luxury player, if he's given time and space to play he's great, but if the going gets tough he literally does nothing.

Meh every single Arsenal fan could scream for his head but he won't go, too stubborn for that as we have seen. But he will blame our bad season on the fans who are calling for his head, which he implied last season.

Not only that the board will not sack him either or convince him to leave.

I look at West Ham and already Bilic is under pressure. I don't think the Arsenal board care if we win or lose anymore.

Sell Sanchez and Ozil, they both clearly aren't interested in playing for us anymore. They will not sign any contract extensions and I don't blame them.

It's not many times you beat a big side 4-0 and come away thinking the scoreline doesn't do you justice. Yes Arsenal weren't at their best but not many sides will expose their weaknesses or mistakes like we did today.

A couple of risky moments from Karius aside we were much more assured defensively, our midfield 3 continued to boss the game and we looked like we could score at will. Salah and Mane are getting a lot of headlines but Firmino is an outstanding player and compliments them so much. His part in the 4th goal sums him up - he picks the ball up in a tight area, under pressure out on the touch line where most players would just smash it clear, his close control and calmness in possession sees him wriggle free and play a really clever pass into Can.

Get a quality CB and a bit more cover in midfield and we've got a very strong squad.
Enough of the Karius experiment, he's been a car crash with his feet today.
So frustrating from him today. He only got asked to do two things today - two decent crosses into the box which he dealt with very well. It should have been a very reassuring performance from him yet he caused problems for himself through nothing but stupidity. I'm sure Klopp's asked him not to be wasteful in possession and to try and play from the back but you've got to use some common sense still and more so after being under so much scrutiny already - just get out of the game without any mistakes or any reason for people to question his selection, if that means kicking it into row z a couple of times then so be it. His problem now is that teams will take every opportunity to close him down now and he's going to be put under more pressure.
Can's mop is magnificent.
Beautiful ******* isn't he?
