Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [25th - 27th Feb 2012]

Shots on goal: Chelsea 12, Bolton 1. We've been on top but no real clear cut chances. Bolton are woeful.

lol, SWP refuses a ridiculously simple pass to make a tap in and misses again.

Newcastle, haven't done a thing since the second goal, almost completely stopped like they'd won after 20 mins.

mind you think of those.......28? run games for Spurs where Bale was on the losing side (mostly - if not all - where he was playing as a full back instead of a winger)

Parker, mmm a bit meh , I mean he isnt a Scholes, Gerrard or Lampard for example, good addition to Spurs squad for the money but imo if they get (and keep) CL places for the next few years, Im unconvinced Parker will keep his 1st XI place
That's like saying Vidic isn't as good as Rooney. Why are you comparing a defensive CM to three very attack minded CM's? In what way is he not as good as them, goal scoring? You don't say. I think Parker is 1,000 times better at tackling than Scholes ;)

Parker would complement any of those superbly, like he does Modric at Spurs, as he allows them to focus on their strengths and leave the breaking up of play to him.

Scholes actually had a ridiculously good tackling success rate last season, its never been that he can't tackle...... when he does a nasty foul, its because he WANTS to do a nasty foul, not that he can't do a good tackle. Meh, when I say nasty, more like cynical, don't think he's the type to try and injure players, but he's short and not particularly fast and he very much makes sure the game gets stopped :p

Parker is a truly excellent DM these days, though don't discount his forward running, he's not a great DM though, he's really quite simply a good footballer. Does the simple things very very well, makes plenty of driving forward runs for Spurs(and did for West Ham) and helps drive the team forwards. Back in his pre-chelsea and early chelsea games he was more of a driving attacking midfielder and wasn't anywhere near as good in the defensive side of his game.
