This was actually exactly what I thought, someone walks back on, maybe a partial tear or a ruptured ligament, goes back on and it tears through completely and he can't go on. He was doing great as well, top scorer and now has maybe the full season out and Bournemouth without a top goal scorer.
Rooney still only capable of scoring against lower league opposition

haha, only just seen the goal. Who is worse, Rooney who can't score or Catermole, conceded penalties, red cards, been dire defensively and literally just used Rooney to score an own goal.

I'm guessing, if it's fully torn and gone I can't imagine the player walking back out there. It's been known for a minor ligament issue to not stop a player who goes back on then ends up making the injury ten times worse. Happened to Ozil with us, maybe, I can't remember, he had a knee issue that I think he hurt in training but we let play a match where it got worse.
