Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [26th - 30th January 2019]

No diving shouts for that United penalty? If anyone wants to let me know how that's any different to Salah i'm all ears. Of course, much like the dives at the weekend, they'll be zero coverage in the media.

You're wasting your time. It's a carbon copy of Salah's pen vs Newcastle - theres a slight pull and they've gone down despite being clearly able to stay up. The difference is one of those players is going for the league and the other isn't. Had the roles been reversed it would have been the same. It's no different to the 5 seconds MOTD gave to Vardy's horrific attempt at outright cheating the other week - ultimately nobody cares because its Leicester.

“I just don’t like it when there’s a touch on the shoulder and their legs don’t work, but it’s modern football,” Dyche said.

“I’m not saying he does it all the time. But they’re strong these lads and how come their legs don’t work? I don’t know.”

Dyche can **** off tbh. The guy has the biggest cheat in the League on his side and he has the cheek to moan about simulation? Ashley Barnes spends 90 minutes running into defenders and throwing himself to the ground. According to Dyche that's just smart play though.

Not a fan of his, though he is right in this case. Players(the majority of them) often do go down too easily.
I don't disagree with what he's said, I just find it a bit rich coming from him considering what Ashley Barnes does week in week out. You have to also remember that Dyche's crusade against diving only started a few days after the game against Liverpool when his side were being criticised for their reckless tackling - it was just used to divert the attention from that.

You dont think foreign players get more of a slating for "diving"? I think they do.
I don’t think it’s brcause they’re foreign though, I think it’s more their profile. The superstar players will always get more attention and flak than your bog standard English player.

Salah has also been a serial offender recently. Or at least he’s been accused multiple times of diving.
Or you could say, correctly been awarded 3 penalties recently ;)

The chat around Salah lately has been nonsense. Of those 3 penalties only 1 has been remotely debatable but ultimately was a foul - the pen vs Arsenal and particularly the one vs Brighton were clear cut.

Or having Joe Hart time waste taking goal kicks.

In this case, the ref tells KdB to wait for the whistle presumably because he wants to slow the game down while he gets into position :)

I don't think the referee has the right to do that. He has colleagues who can see the ball if he doesn't see it.
Also, Kevin saw the whistle in front of his face - but Sergio Aguero didn't see. Aguero asked for the ball in the right moment and Kevin delivered.
Any normal referee in the world would have allowed the play to continue.

What the hell, at least he could have saved the yellow card, if nothing else
