Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [26th - 30th October 2018]

A fair result really, the 2nd half rally lasted about 10 minutes then it was back to being mediocre again. Good points haul up to this point though, all things considered.
 
Xhaka plays loads better with torreiria next to him as it allows xhaka to use his passing game and not worry about being defensive

Shame we couldn't make it 12 but

12 played 11 won and a draw

Anyone would take that, infact it was the longest winning streak this season across Europe

Hope he rests torreiria/laca/aubameyang/ozil on weds against blackpool in prep for Liverpool next weekend
 
Disappointed with us today, but we have been playing a lot of football lately. Scheduling has cost us. Playing Monday, Thursday (in Portugal) and today was gonna catch up with us eventually.
 
Liverpool next weekend with potentially 0 full backs, and our slow first half starts should be fun.

2-2 a fair result with both teams getting incredible strokes of luck
 
Ozil was back to his normal self today, don’t think I even heard his name mentioned before he came off. One of the most inconsistent players going unfortunately.

This is what's frustrating, he had one good game and people are laughing at those who called that contract insane and a huge mistake... it's one game. For 375k a week that's the kind of player who HAS to play that well in all but 2-3 games a season. How Ozil played last week is how someone on that wage needs to play in almost every game. THe very reason he wasn't worth any wage increase is because he plays like that so infrequently.

Football fans, a lot of sports fans really, they can't seem to think past the current or last performance. Ozil play well "see, you were wrong about him"... completely ignoring the 4 years of performances of which a handful were truly that level.
