Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [27th - 28th August 2011]

In terms of the 18 / 19 championship thing, technically it's 12 v 0 as the "First Division Championship" is no longer being contested.

I am dismayed Man U fans aren't holding this against the Scousers!

I keep forgetting Real Madrid were in the Champions League final last season and won their domestic title and since leaving Old Trafford Ronaldo has gone on to win more trophies than his previous club...

To be honest it looked like Runcorn FC were contesting the Champions League final last season against Barca ;)

Guys, calling someone a troll is a ban-able offence now.

Such a stupid rule.

Why don't the mods try and clamp down on it quicker? Why should people be punished for pointing it out?

Sandy is being a wum and has so far gotten away with it. (Wind up merchant)

Because 90% of the time the accused is posting their opinion which someone doesn't agree with then called a troll, it's ridiculous.

All I think today has shown is how far Arsenal have fallen behind in the title race.

While I agree that title's aren't won a few games in nor are they won by "just" beating your title rivals, but today showed the massive gap in squad and team quality that Wenger has allowed to happen.

Manchester United have gotten better and are just looking such a brilliant side, Manchester City have improved no end and are now looking to attack and really go for teams. Liverpool have improved and just look classy going forward. Chelsea have "improved" but haven't hit any where near top form.

Arsenal :(

Hey I'm one that's always putting something out there and often disagree with people (Augero being probably the best forward in the League :p and Gibson wasn't that bad) but that's my belief and I'll happily debate it.

When someone is obviously out to try and wind people up by taking a daft position on purpose the masses shouldn't be punished for pointing this out.

I agree that when someone has a different opinion to you calling them a troll is stupid and petty, but when it's blatant it shouldn't be punished.

I think having a different opinion or point of view is good for discussion, which is always what I have in mind, most of the posters in here are pretty knowledgeable about football and it's good and fun and interesting to debate things with them, when people come in with comments designed to annoyed and spark a reaction calling them out on it shouldn't be punishable.

meh, /cba with it. Just gonna put him on ignore, never used it before, pretty excited :D

I've only used it once to block "The Running Man / NickG" as he speaks so much bile.

Has he posted blaming De Gea for United's two goals yet and claimed that another "more experienced" keeper would have kept a clean sheet?

It's for the moderating team to decide if someone is trolling though, otherwise it's just another insult thrown around, and like I said needlessly half the time.

Unfortunately the team can't check this thread constantly so let the powers dish the punishments out and you just relax :)

You and I have enough to worry about with our supported teams to bother about such things ;)

To be fair, replacing Schmeichel proved difficult for Man U until VDS came along and at last they've now found one for Massimo Taibi.

Rotty disagrees with this :(

True.

oi, I'll have you for that! Nothing to worry about with Wednesday :o

Promotion? Easy.... :(

I'm so tired and tipsy.

How's your season so far? :p

Like Arsenal and got as many red cards as points :D Dirty Leeds...

If we cut them out we'd be in top half easily. Playing well at least.
