That was annoying but no knee-jerking here - all the other games lost this season, the performances were so bad you couldn't say they deserved anything other than getting a hiding. Today, couldn't fault the effort and looked like a different team for most of the first half, and even out of possession in the 2nd until the end when they lost their shape when it went end-to-end. Losing Chambers and having to play Mustafi and Luiz was always going to make life difficult, but it until that howler for their first goal they were just about hanging in there... which makes it especially disappointing Leno made such a howler because he's been solid this season.
Top 4 was already gone before Arteta came in, it's just a shame he's started in the middle of the Christmas fixture crunch but I'm 95% sure this is going to be like that season when Chelsea finished 10th or 12th. Think they'll be fine once there's time to have a breather before games.
