Don't care about the Liverpool result, they'll be lucky to be fighting for an Europa league place.

I thought it would be a good time to play Newcastle, would help if we actually turned up though, were playing badly

Yup totally agree that ref's always seem reluctant to give a red early on etc.

I do think ref's bring on the abuse themselves though, their just not consistent enough

Hmm, maybe. I would love to know what referees consider when giving a card. I think that we would be better off if we didn't think that referees can get 100% of the decisions right. I think that half of it is that referees are protected so much and have to explain so little that people naturally assume that must mean that they are above reproach.

People do look at things in very simplistic ways as well. I have heard the old "big teams get more penalties" lines paraded so often and do you know what, they are right. The teams that are attacking more and in the oppositions penalty area more are strangely more likely to get penalties.

Basically, a bit more transparency would be good for refereeing I think.

I really appreciate it when a player does something silly and acknowledges it and apologises.

It seems players/refs dont seem to build up a relationship (good one) like they use to (talking early 90's) having a laugh/joke in the tunnels at the start/end of games etc.

Think refs need to be more firmer, giving yel/red card's when they think its needed and not becuase the opposite team demands it, fans/manager ranting at them etc, basically they've lost respect becuase they've let to much go (imo etc)
