Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [29th November - 1st December 2019]

Never could understand the red card rule for the keeper handling outside the box.

It’s red for denying a goal, just like it would be for a defender on the line. Goal keepers can get yellow just like any other player, but by the nature of their position they tend to be the last man and high risk for red cards rather than yellow for most fouls.

Edit - it would be a red card for any Liverpool player who handled in that position to prevent a goal in that position.

Is it at the refs discretion or an automatic red card that's what I'm unsure about?

**** me! I'm not joking, I genuinely can't see me surviving until May. We were in total control of the game, had a couple of chances to make it 3-0 and then that happens?!?! Not a clue what Alisson was doing and then that was such a sneaky free-kick - Atkinson signals to wait for the whistle and then as we're setting our wall up he blows quickly to leave Brighton an open goal :/

Denying a goal is a straight red.

Chelsea are making the race for top 4 interesting. A week ago it looked like they had CL qualification in the bag and now suddenly they've let Arsenal, Spurs and Utd right back in the race.

Just been reading bits and pieces as at work again so missed game, seems we may it hard for ourselves as always.

Did Salah go off due or injury or just poor performance?

Or because we were 2-0 up, coasting, he's still recovering from an ankle injury and have a very busy run of games coming up? That was the reason btw and it was the same for Firmino, minus the recovering from an ankle injury bit of course.

Well I have felt Salah in past few weeks hasn't been great. That's why I mentioned if performance releated.

I ain't worried about losing Alison for a few games as Adrian proved he was a good enough back up when he was used last time

He's been carrying an injury, it's not a massive surprise that he's not been at his very best. He didn't play especially well today either but then again none of the forwards did.

And thankfully Alisson is only suspended for 1 game, not sure if that'll be Everton or Bournemouth though. On the whole Adrian done well when he came in at the start of the season but he still terrifies me at times - he managed to fumble a weak effort straight at him today and ended up having to scramble back to stop it going over the line.

Embarrassingly empty stadium on show at Southampton and that's with a free drink on offer and some stands being offered at £20 per seat for this game AND Norwich.

People don't even want to attend when the ticket is a tenner and includes a beer.

Since the day Cortese left you've been in a gradual decline. It's mad to think that you were probably the best run club in the League up until 5 or so years ago. Do you have any idea what changed and caused Cortese to leave?

A falling out with Katharina Liebherr supposedly.

Edit - if we can't even beat Watford, they may as well just relegate us now and give the other 19 teams a bye for all the return fixtures.

Edit 2 - jesus christ this is crap
