If he thought his job was safe then the 2nd half performance just goes to show he was never the man for the job.
 
Think it was about time, he'd lost the confidence of the fans and even a string of good results would not have bought him much time.

I wonder if Klopp is actually going to happen, for my beloved Arsenal I hope it doesnt, but at the same time it would be good to see him in the prem.

Except they are a big club, and this decision proves that. Damn fickle football fans expecting better things from their club/team after so much money has been spent.
 
Carragher actually said that Liverpool think they're a big club but arent? Christ that is pretty damning from one of their own (and in my opinion completely inaccurate too).
 
Imagine they get Ancelotti after all of this, it wouldn't be a quick fix, they'd need to have a look at their transfer policy too, but that sure is some upgrade. Why wouldn't their fans want that?

Not sure what's gone on with the club and Carragher and Gerrard but both have been scathing of Liverpool in recent weeks. Can only assume it's aimed at FSG.

I would however agree that we don't have the pulling power of the mega rich or CL teams at present.

Indeed, it's crazy to see them both going for Liverpool. Carra ripped into them and didn't hold back even saying it goes back to when he was there.

Thing is I would say we're probably 3rd tier, but the oil rich English clubs are 2nd tier with the likes of Madrid, Barca and BM being the only real top tier clubs in world football.

Not really, they have both shown time and time again they just look out for themselves
