Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [2nd - 5th March 2012]

Well joke of a result but sums our season up, We cant finish enough chances we create, KD goes on about how they need time they have all had plenty!

No creativity imo in that midfield, Most our set pieces are dire yet Adam is "Great" at them clearly he bloody well isnt.

KD Cannot for the life of him make subs at the right times or the correct ones.

TBH We imo dont deserve fourth if we keep this up only team that do this year id say is Newcastle.

I await our next dire game at home were we hit wood work and use same excuse.

Pretty good game. Liverpool really should have won it though....They had enough chances. A game you need to win to stay in the race for fourth and you have Bellamy and Carrol on the bench ....thats fair enough, but surely he should have bought them on sooner!? ....they needed a goal.

Football is all about the individual battles.

Who can misplace the most passes- Adam vs Rosicky
Who can have the least affect on the game - Henderson vs Benayoun(yes he was playing!)
Just .....What? - Diaby vs Spearing

:p

Andy Caroll's highlights;

We won't get 4th and any Liverpool supporter who thinks we will needs their head checking.

Last season Dalglish inherited a far better team that was being badly managed, gave them a bit of confidence and got us playing well. I honestly couldn't see anyone coming in and getting better out of these players. He's bought incredibly poorly and he must take the blame for how poor we are at home and in the league in general this season.

Bet that draw against a Championship side feels a million years ago now? :p

Honest question though there's no chance of Dalglish being sacked is there?

Don't think there has been a one man team like this since Ronaldo was at Man U!

United weren't a one man team they had some excellent players, but Ronaldo was just that much better than everybody in the premier league.

With Arsenal you have a very good player(RVP) on a team of average players.

Have a feeling that Arsenal are going to have to bankrupt themselves to keep Van Persie at the club. He knows that Arsenal would be mid-table at best if he wasn't there, so will want big wages to make up for that. That is assuming he wants to stay, even though there is very little chance of him winning any trophies..

Edit: Only 1 point better off than last season now and it's only going to get worse.

But, but ye won a penalty shootout against Cardiff City- everything is going to be ok!

I would say I don't know how we didn't win that but it's been the same all season. We're so wasteful in front of goal it's beyond ridiculous.

Liverpool 1-2 Van Persie :p

Liverpool dominated that game but just couldn't find the net, Van Persie got two chances and scored both, he makes scoring look so easy.

Chelsea unchanged form last week:

Cech, Ivanovic, Luiz, Cahill, Cole, Ramires, Essien, Lampard, Sturridge, Drogba, Mata.

Subs: Turnbull, Romeu, Torres, Mikel, Malouda, Meireles, Hutchinson.

None KD would never get sacked, This was my worry when we gave him another run at it that if it didnt work out over all then not only does it ruin him it makes it allot harder for us to solve the situation with out massive back lash weather he deserves to go or not.

I dont think KD should leave yet but if it is him buying these players then i do worry who we will sign in summer might be Diaby at 50M if were going to keep signing average players at stupid prices

Suarez gets clipped on the ankle and goes round like he has had shin blown off by a landmine

Spat my drink out, there was contact though.

Perfection personified.

Yep, Arsenal didn't deserve a thing from that game but that finish was outstanding.

Taking it no one noticed RVP doing the ****** signal to Martin Kelly? I'm sure if it was someone else it'd be mentioned.

Clueless/no luck infront of goal as usual, miss a penalty, other team has two chances, lose. Same old.

Draw against a Championship side and win a cup on penalties > lose to a Championship side and go out of the competition :p

No idea. The owners can't be happy about how we've performed or how the Suarez situation panned out. I'd like to think Dalglish would learn from his mistakes this season but he's made so many and hasn't changed a thing. If we did get a new manager I doubt many of his signings bar Suarez and Enrique would last long.

How does one put into words how good Robin van Persie is at scoring, I've tried but I can't

Fixed.

Again lets not go overboard, the guy is incredible in front of goal at the moment but apart from his two goals he did nothing else in that game which has been the case quite a lot of times this season.
