Nani was absolutely awful today.
ESPN overlay came up during the game with a very interesting fact on Nani's crossing, with him having 21% cross competition. His massive ego that is present in majority of games was on show today, constantly trying to beat Blackburn's left back by simply knocking the ball 20 yards ahead and trying to out pace Henley and failing.
Even from a stand still, he tried to beat his man, miss-controlled and put the ball out for a Blackburn goal kick. Then there was the free kick which he pretty much passed to a Blackburn player....
Valencia and Berbatov were probably the only players putting in a decent performance today.

I was looking for a comparison someone did last year of left backs which had crossing completion, that will do though, basically 21% isn't woeful by any means, its not brilliant, its merely an average game, maybe below average for Nani of late.
Players rarely get high cross completion rates.
he had an off game, all players do, however, berating him for trying to create is daft. Here's a hint, someone who doesn't even try to beat his man or cross, won't get a successfull cross or an assist, or a goal, someone who tries, at least has a chance. Players who aren't afraid of looking like idiots when they make mistakes against fans who will rip into a player after a single poor performance are few and far between.
Arshavin was actually in excellent form before xmas last season, and some people randomly, and incorrectly started calling him crap and within a few weeks everyone was saying it, his confidence was gone he did stop playing as well, Wenger dropped him and without any consistent games he can't get his confidence back.
Nani wasn't great today, he wasn't poor and wasn't the reason they lost.
The overall feel I got from Utd in general, including Nani is "we're back to our best after thrashing a few crap teams, its Blackburn we can showboat from the start, it will be easy".
The free kicks from Nani showed that, he didn't do them on his own, they were trying training ground fancy freekicks before they had won the game because they assumed they were going to win easily. Most of the team played like it was a foregone conclusion and the only two maybe who didn't were Berbatov and Valencia.
