Cosimo really doesn't like Lampard any more.

I know you don't agree but having Lucas in front of them has helped massively as has not playing Lovren. Sakho bitch slaps Lovren hard.

Lucas came back into the side while we were still playing 4 at the back and we still looked all at sea defensively. The change of system is what's transformed the side both defensively and going forward.

Sakho's been great. Just like last season, when he gets a run of games he looks better and better. He's perfectly suited to the system too - he looks at home on the left of a 3.

It was interesting to see Skrtel and Can switch positions 2nd half today. I'm not sure if that was because Carroll was playing almost from the left and targeting Can.

3-1 Full time.

Dominated the game and played fairly well. Nothing remarkable but with a slightly better final ball we could have scored 3 or 4 more.

I don't like Jones as a defender, at all, but I do like Rojo, he looks good (and has done all season really).

Valencia had loads of the ball and could barely come up with a cross or pass, very frustrating. Januzaj was a bit better but needs more games.

Blind was excellent and did his job brilliantly at the base of midfield. Rooney didn't do much, I don't really like him in midfield, he just looked like a spare part.

Di Maria messed up quite a few good opportunities but showed flashes of how good he can be, needs more games I think, and we shouldn't keep changing the team every week either.

All in all, some progress today.

Would really like to see rooney up top with Falcao (now that he is fit, just to see how they work together), and Herrera taking up the midfield spot , think that would improve on today's performance

Really surprised we didn't try and get any centre half this window , I would be happy never to see Jones in that position for Utd ever again. I just cant see him ever making it (or Smalling/Evans for that matter), Im not sure Rojo should be a starter after next season but he is certainly more promising and could be a good find in a year or so (fair play to him, he has made a massive step up from SL to Utd and is looking good so far).

Still quite mystified that Di Maria didn't score once or twice today, at least one was harder to miss than actually hit the target (and probably score), but as I said before at least Utd are producing lots of chances again which is an improvement
