Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [30th Mar - 2nd April 2012]

Perch didn't have to go down but almost ALL players do in that situation. Reina clearly lunged at him with a 'fake' headbutt and that's a red card all day long.

Simple as that.

Or he was squaring up to him to get in his face, and as you said a fake headbutt, no intention of actually doing it therefore not a red and it is a red for Perch for diving and also the trip of Reina when he collected the ball :)

How are you not getting this? Newcastle are used to singing that at their past managers over the past decade?

And I'm saying Pardew has done very well because he has and you thought I was saying he hasn't

I know that Big Sam wasn't popular at Newcastle but I can't remember Newcastle fans being too bad to their mangers over the past 10 years.

They have a lot of hate for Mike Ashley, if that's what you're getting confused over.

I wish I had rose tinted glasses like yours hahaha.

Purdy :D

The intention is all there with the action of the 'headbutt', therefore it's a red card. Simple.

No point getting upset over it, Reina was bloody stupid, direct your anger at him.

Ridiculous match.

We're on a terrible run and didn't play well enough (well not the 2nd half) but we weren't getting anything from today. A nailed on pen and red card totally missed, their 2nd goal which was a mile offside and then Perch somehow doesn't get a 2nd yellow right at the end for pulling back Suarez.

And stupid from Reina, whether he touched him or not and regardless of the reaction, Reina should have never given him the chance.

I feel for Liverpool because they are a great club but somehow they are turning into a bit of a laughing stock,

As a newcastle fan we were a bit of a joke for a few year but now we are proving a lot of people wrong and are doing better than I'd thought we do and many other fans probably.

Its our turn to have a bit of a laugh :)

But in serious liverpool shouldnt be where they are now

Grow up and stop being such a sore loser. Hodgson, Benitez amongst otherw or does that not count? Selective memory indeed  there is bitter then there is Purdy.

Beaten by a better team and below us as you deserve to be.

Divert conversation? I've probably called our team **** and our management **** more times than anyone else in this thread.

And if you can't remember that you've got a very poor memory.

Well it is diverting the conversation, people were talking about the game and you decided to take the opportunity to have a dig at opposition fans..

I don't read most of the things you write in here because it is mostly a load of *****.

I didn't see the Reina incident, but everybody knows that if you move your head towards an opposition then you have a very good chance of getting sent off as numerous players this season have found out. It is simply idiotic to do it, even if there is little to no contact it is an unnecessary risk so Reina can only blame himself.

Absolutely pathetic.

Anyway back on the match and ignoring the bitterness.

Great game. We rode our luck first half but we were much better team second half without a doubt. Had some luck with the pen first half but ref was good apart from that.

Perch was great and so was Williamson much to my surprise, Krul barely had a save to make. 10 points clear of our nearest challengers and I'm hopeful we can keep ahead of Everton.

HAWAY THE LADS!!

Watching that gif over and over and he was actually past Krul at a point that he could shoot before falling over if he just put the ball slightly infront of himself. Spineless, couldn't bare the responsibility of missing.

You can see what he was trying to do, hook his trailing leg around Kruls arm but Kruls arm didn't move forward it moved back. An hilarious dive made even worse by sensible goalkeeping.

It's made worse by the fact it could have been a very easy goal had he stayed on his feet.
