Pure gold. :D

My only regret is that this wasn't the final fixture of the season [and City's goal difference wasn't as vast]

That would have topped the drama when Aguero scored in injury time!

Doubt it, never blew a massive points lead and title favourites for two games, also would've required city drawing too for it to be relevant.

In lambo and Sam we trust now though :D

As an almost neutral last night was probably the best game I've watched this season.

I think the comparisons with Newcastle are quite relevant though in that it again highlights the deficiencies of an unbalanced team not being able to see a season out. The Newcastle of 95-96 were arguably a better team than Liverpool are now, especially whilst attacking which is why they amassed such a lead in the first place, Liverpool's defensive frailty has been more apparent because when they concede it actually matters.

Think it mattered for them finishing a lot further behind the leaders than we did.

Also we've scored quite a lot more goals than them

Gutted tbh, even at 3-0 up it felt like it wasnt enough though. Tremendous effort from all at the club, to even have been in with a shout at this stage of the season is astonishing. 14 straight wins at the end of the season was always a massive, massive ask. Gave the oil clubs a good run for their money, and we're in the CL next season :)

Proud of my team, well in boys.

Well said. It easy to look at the season as a failure after falling short so close to the line. But we have met our objectives and got a strong base for the future. The team and manager have had to learn a few tough lessons the last couple of games, good experience for next season.

My only concern would be the squad depth. As mentioned previously you have a strong first 14 or so, and that's enough in domestic competitions barring any long injuries, but not when you put CL in there as well. Not if you're trying to put on a good showing.

As Spurs showed, you can't sign too many at once, but you do need more numbers.

Anyone who views it as a failure is an idiot, we're ahead of schedule and had the most fun in years

You can't sign too many at once and throw them all together, you can sign a fair few and swap a couple in and out at a time which is what you'd expect, you'd like to think we'll spend and the owners realise this situation has come about due to a very small squad.

We've also got some good players coming back from loan, can't wait to see Suso again
