Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [4th - 7th October 2019]

1 nil to West Ham decently worked goal as well, Rice is looking a different class every time I watch him.

We've won 17 league games in a row but crucially, it's been across 2 seasons and we're competing with a side that have shown they too can string together winning runs of 15+ games. City won something silly like 20 of their last 21 last season and you'd hardly be shocked if they done something similar again at some point this season. We need to keep this run going for as long as we can because we're not going to be able to drop too many points if we want to win the League. The days of winning the league with 80-85 points are long gone.

It's been an incredible run of form, and in any other era would have resulted in a league winners medal. I remember when Arsenal won the league in 98, with a run of 10 wins, and that was considered impressive.

3-12 is anyone's game this season. The top two are in a different class altogether. Milner has been fantastic for Liverpool I bet Man City have been kicking themselves for letting him go. Reminds me a lot of Denis Irwin. Someone you can rely on to give you an 8/9 out of ten week in week out.

Long gone? 3 years it's been in the 90's+ and will soon fall below it again. Purely because the top 2 are streets ahead, this won't stay that way for much longer. City are nothing like as strong this year as last year and have more critical injuries. I thought Liverpool might suffer because of Alison getting injured but except the initial wobble they will ride that out nicely. City won't get near the number of wins this year with their back four.

Liverpool will win the league by at least 6 points this year. Klopp has built a fantastic side but the attitude and resilience impresses me most of all.

This City side won't just fall off a cliff. Even if they don't perform to the level they have been, they'll still be picking up high 80s to mid 90s points.

I disagree. When Guardiola becomes bored they will drop down. United have clearly shown having a lot of money doesn't make you great again. City were pretty much how United are now before Guardiola came in. Of course the money has helped so so much but when you have a decent manager to go with it you become unstoppable. I rate Klopp above Guardiola as he has proven himself with tiny budgets but Liverpool would wipe the floor with City if they had their spending ability.

I can see him leaving for Italy in a season or two, even if he does win the Champions League with City. He's a domestic trophy sponge but there will only be so many domestic trophies he can win before he gets bored and wants a new challenge.

As soon as he leaves City, they'll drop like a stone and I think we'll see the same when Klopp leaves us. Their styles of football are so unique I can't see many people being able to come in and continue what they've started.
