Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [5 - 6th October 2013]

He doesn't get sent off or give away a penalty every other week though. Koscielny does.

Kos would suit a team that have their backs to the wall all game, a lower team in the Premises maybe. Not a team wanting the league, he has no composure. A bit like Skrtel at times.

That's the whole point though lads. He's a bull in the china shop, he charges everything down and Mert runs in behind. Classic close and sweep cb combo..

The guy gets a serious battering every game, it's not surprising he gets cards and penalties, he has been particularly unlucky so far this season..

Lucky point for Arsenal yesterday, thought we played very badly all over. It was like a completely different team vs Napoli. No pace or urgency at all. Still top of the league which is nice. Did I see someone say Ramsey is one of the best players in the world at the moment? If not for all his goals he has still been very average in 50% of the games.

I was obviously exaggerating the point.

However, in 6(?) league games this season he's given away 2 pens (should have been 3 after today) and been sent off. 3 incidents in 6 games does average out at one every other week as I said.

It's not just like he's had a patchy start to this season. I can't think of another defender that's conceded as many pens and/or been sent off as much as him in the period since he joined Arsenal.

And crucially these incidents are often the result of plain stupidity. What on earth was he thinking in the last minute today? The challenge for the pen vs Sunderland was about as brain dead as they come too.

I dont disagree with you on him being slightly brain dead, when i saw the replays of that incident...i was sat wondering how in gods name he got away with that lol.

Yes he has his bad days and gives stupid fouls/penalties away at times but id still have him there. Its like trusty said, hes a bull in a china shop...he has an effective partnership with Mert but yesterday it just seemed the whole team was lacking in quality all round. Didnt help that WBA gave us hardly any room in the middle, did a pretty decent job of nullifying our midfield pretty much yesterday.

Really not enjoying football at the moment. To go from a crossbar-width away from promotion, we're now looking like League One also rans. Our last 20 games leaves us with W6 D8 L6 - that certainly isn't form to get us back up the top end of the table.

To make it worse, a few weeks ago we'd only lost 2 of our last 32 home games. We've since lost 2 in a row, haven't scored in 3 home games (1 goal in our last 4 home games) and we looked completely clueless on Saturday.

That said, we put together an awesome performance away from home last week to beat an in form Coventry 2-0... so Rosler goes and changes a winning team, having to rework his changes by half time as they weren't panning out at all.

Grrrrr.

It fails to point out the numerous **** managers they had during that time and the nutter that they bought back for a second time :D

Do we get the extra European cups as well?

Probably the worst Spurs home game I've been to in years. i can't remember seeing such a side that lacked commitment, motivation and ideas. Not taking anything from West Ham. They exposed our frailness and hit us with true grit, hard work and determination. So fair cop to them.

I'm starting to quiz our summer signings as nothing more than a PR stunt to cool the masses after the sale of Bale. With two players on the bench not far off £60M, these guys should not only be playing, but they should be having an influence and an impact on the game. Most sides would be envious of our subs bench let alone the the starting 11. My feeling is we have bought too many players during the last window which has had an unsettling effect and the Levy has fallen for the trap of thinking spending brings it's rewards. I would have been far happier with a new CB, LM and a striker of true world class than to see a side fall apart.

Can't they just put his arm in a protective cast for games? Mind you the useless oaf would be even more useless if he can't grab people.

Fellaini must have a dirty secret on every ref in the country. It's the only possible explanation as to how he gets away with elbowing every opposition player at least twice per game.
