Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [6th- 11th March 2020]

What is wrong with officials in the PL. Linesman puts his flag up and unsurprisingly everyone stops. Thank god it was offside by a few inches.

The whistle only went after the ball hit the back of the net but it sounded like idiots in the crowd were whistling. It looked level to me personally but I would imagine it falls under not "clear and obvious".

edit: they're saying his shoulder was offside, stupid. If he had scored with his shoulder you could understand it. I'd have had more respect for the decision if they hadn't bothered with the lines and showing his shoulder offside but just said that it wasn't a clear and obvious error.

Not sure what Neville was getting at there, if De Gea did stop that’s only his fault? Also didn’t seem like he did, was setting himself right until it was put past him

Lineman have been told not to flag unless its the most obvious offside in the world because VAR will check if a goal is scored.

Christ. Does this need explaining again?

I thought the officiating was bad yesterday, VAR's making them all lazy because they know they can make as many mistakes as they want and get the full support of VAR and the FA.

To be fair assuming your United hes kept you in it.

Since his dive Cantona has been poor and Dan James is a championship player.

You're going to have to explain that one. Should have had a penalty and arguably Fernandinho wasn't fouled when Martial was breaking through on goal and he just stopped another counter attack with minimal City defenders to give a foul only once Martial had broken away. Hes been ******* awful.

The offside was incredibly tight and Cantona dived for the freekick. Agree it was a pen but hes not favouring anyone here...hes just crap.

Offside is offside no matter how tight. I'm not saying he is being biased, but just because a ref isn't being biased doesn't mean he doesn't effect the result for one side far more than the other.

If our strikers weren't so ******* greedy we would be 3/4 - 0 up right now. Again, Fernando completely unmarked in the middle and James blasts it at the keeper from a ridiculously tight angle.
