Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [6th - 12th April 2018]

Everton really are rubbish. So much promise 2 years ago all frittered away. Not as if they haven't spent money either. For a Merseyside derby this is insipid, low quality stuff.

Nah **** that, Solanke hasn't a clue, literally just hitting shots into defenders after absolute trash movement.

The worst derby in the history of derbies but I'll take a point and no injuries.

Now hoping for Mourinho to send out United in seek and destroy mode this evening.

Edit: Karius with another great performance, one world class save and commanded his box well. Has he really turned a corner and become a viable option for next season?

What a waste of time, no tension in it what so ever other than Coleman being a toad
Perhaps it's to do with him having his leg snapped in half after a dirty challenge that he isn't so keen on people coming in and tackling from behind anymore.

Also who the **** is Danny Ings hahahahaha

A predictably disjointed performance from us given the changes and with certain players playing out of position. Wijnaldum playing in the holding role with Hendo in his position was clearly with Tuesday in mind and while he played well today, I'm terrified of Gini in the holding role vs City - he loves to draw players onto him and then turn them or hold them off and at some point it will backfire on Tuesday.

Probably should have been ahead in the first half but equally we could have been behind in the second so a draw was probably fair enough.

Firmino's not tracking back like Milner was and Klavan's now getting wrecked.
It really was a waste of time bringing him on. He clearly got told not to over do things so he decided to jog around for 20 minutes :o

He was very good today and has been of late. The save he made was excellent but it was how well he dealt with crosses today which was most pleasing. As for whether he's now a viable option for next season, you have to remember how well Mignolet ended last season and how that gave him a chance this season. If we can sign a top class keeper then do it because I don't want to be having this conversation again in 12 months time.
We would surely play Milner in that role assuming Can is as dead as repots suggest.

Can is definitely out of Tuesday and according to Klopp at least next weekend too. If Milner was going to play the holding role then he would have done it today. The fact that Wijnaldum played there despite Hendo playing shows you that it will be Wijnaldum in the 6 on Tuesday.
