Yeah it's not the first time either (in a Utd shirt or Arsenal shirt) I still think Rooney is better in every respect except finishing, and you can see that in the impact he's made since coming back from injury.

I agree (and said as much myself last week). Feels good to finally be able to say it without Jakeke coming in with a snide comment about Rooney and United supporters as well :p

EDIT: its also confirmation that DM hasn't had a clue what he's been on about all this time also :D

Actually its not because you're both talking about something completely different. You can't say from an impact any player has made "since coming back" that he is better at anything than another player.... at least unless he has replaced said player.

IE same team is crap with RVP, switch him for Rooney and the team improves. However, that isn't what happened, and there is still not any aspect of Rooney's game that is better than RVP's. You were attrocious in the first half of the Spurs game, Rooney came on in the second game, but it was RVP's passing, RVP's movement(he came wide left, wide right, deep), he got the ball, held it turned and passed forwards, he put in some amazing crosses.

Rooney came on, Utd fans raved over Rooney because the difference between Rooney and GIGGS was huge, RVP was easily better than Rooney in that game, likewise RVP was good in the CL. Rooney's ball for the second was decent but if you watch, RVP makes the run, he makes it clear where he wants the ball, he gets the run perfect and the finish was the only thing he could really do.

The only two games RVP has been involved in that Utd lost... were games in which Rooney played :p

Anyway, when you bring on Rooney for Giggs, of course he'll look vastly superior and of course Utd improved.... since that game, which you still lost you played a crap Euro team and a very very off form Newcastle team and even within that game you beat them in the first 15 mins when Newcastle hadn't even started to play yet.

Its like claiming Arsenal are great because we hadn't conceded for 3 games, against 3 poor teams, then conceding against 6-7 in the row. If you play better teams, then play 2 poor teams and beat them and look better, you would have done so if Rooney and RVP didn't play. Team looking better in easier game shock :o
Utd fans in making up reasons why Rooney is the bestest player in the world shock :o

Dm is 95% clueless mate lol

Where exactly has this superior attitude come from, you appeared, changed your mind about everything Arsenal every single game all year long, disappear for a couple months, come back and pretend you aren't a flakey fan with no clue what he's talking about and then just join in with the pack of having a go at DM, well done, why not make it official, join in properly and switch to being a Utd fan.

Rooney was clearly superior to van Persie in that Spurs game, but, of course, I only think this because I am not blessed with DM's superior understanding of football.

However, given that the only way I can conclusively prove my point now is by watching the Spurs game again and accurately citing every contribution that each player made throughout the game, I will happily settle for being wrong. That should save "someone" a few paragraphs.

Whilst Suarez is dominating another weekends football reports for anyone who is in any doubt as to what kind a sportsman he is (or has memory loss!) remember the world cup...

What exactly is your point here? that he would do what 99.99% of other players would do or that he is a better goalkeeper then the guy in front of him also trying to stop the attempt with his hands? Lets not forget that the incident that lead to the free-kick was won by less than honest means too.

Riddle me this, in a weekend that had a Elbow, Stamp and a dive which one gets the most coverage....

The media witch hunt is getting a bit pathetic now.

The dive gets the most media coverage helped by the fact that Liverpool keep on coming out with "ooh him as a player and us as a club are being victimized yet again" blah blah blah

Any other club, it gets mentioned once in the post match interviews directly after the game and is then forgotten. With Liverpool it lasts for days if not weeks.

Well considering he can get stamped on and hacked down in penalty areas without anything given, I think there is quite compelling evidence he is getting 'victimiised'.

Good to see the FA are carrying on with fines for clubs whose players surround the ref in games though...

Strange I haven't heard anyone within Liverpool FC comment on the stoke game and issues apart from BR's post match comments.

Besides, don't fool yourself, if a ManU player had been stamped on you wouldn't hear the end of it, Fergie would be in the papers every day mouthing off. Hell you only have to look at the rubbish he was spouting off for days after the lack of fergie time in the spurs game.

and the delusion continues :p

But I thought he'd 'be in the papers every day mouthing off' if a Manchester United player had been stamped on ?

We know the old boy is usually so drunk he doesn't mind being a massive hypocrite, but he can hardly make an issue of that without drawing attention to Van Persie's elbow now can he
