It's so rare for defenders to all get dragged sideways like that though, fullbacks coming narrow and leaving bag loads of space out wide happens all the time and makes the defence more solid, more bodies in the middle so if the cross comes in you have more there. The reverse though is a disaster waiting to happen, even then, no one tracking the run, left back not filling in the space as his CB moves across, no one plugging the hole. No discipline or organisation in that defence at all.
