Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [8 - 11th December 2012]

You spelt **** refereeing wrong

You are 100% right that there have been some bad decisions against Liverpool (as there has been against all clubs though). You can't hide from the fact that Suarez has created a psychological barrier against awarding decisions to Liverpool. Suarez himself runs around raking his studs down people's legs and getting away with it as well :/ seen it a few times this season already and he gets away with it. What he doesn't get away with now though is the diving.

Can't buy this.

Easily the best performance of the season and fully deserved to win :)
Your best performance maybe but you fully deserved to win?

We dominated the game and were undone by two admittedly very good good counter attacking goals and a deflected fk from bottle job Nasri. Apart from that we ran the game imo. I didn't think you deserved to win and a draw would have been a fair result.

A very poor ref I thought ruined the game for both teams.

Yeah I used to live by the 'we deserved more, we dominated everything but the goals stat' when we regularly and still do dominate most games and don't win. You don't deserve anything unless you put the ball in the net more times than your opponent, barring referee influence.

So yesterday you scored twice (one straight off the back of a wrongly disallowed goal), United scored four legitimate goals, only 3 allowed.
The only time I can recall the ref being poor for you was blowing when Yaya went on a monstrous run after Rooney and someone else did horrible lunges in on him.

That on top of one of your fans coining Rio and many others throwing at corners and stuff, nah you didn't deserve a thing, maybe some humble pie for some entitled fans.

I thought it was a bit more equal than some of the Manchester United fans will have people believe.

I didn't think the referee got too much wrong, he should have sent Tevez off though, that was his only real mistake that I can recall, obviously there was the lines official getting Young's offside goal wrong.

I thought Manchester United shaded it, but there wasn't much in it in all honesty.

No, no and nope.

Yes, yes and yes.

It was more equal than some will suggest, neither team ran the game but Manchester United were better and a draw would have been an unfair result, as it should have been 3-0 and cruising at one point.

There was no 'domination' from either side, Tevez made City far more of a threat when he came on but it was pretty end to end for a long stretch of the game.

The ref didn't ruin the game at all and I thought he certainly had a pretty good first half. The only 'wrong' decision was that Tevez didn't walk down the tunnel before the game was up.

I don't think any united fan can say they dominated or looked the better team in general, but they were twice as good at doing what matters

I guess we will agree to disagree because I felt that Atkinson got quite a few decisions wrong and had a poor game.

Again with the team who deserved to win.

On to Newcastle.

I find it bizzare that people think that Tevez's kick out at Jones is worthy of a red yet to fail to mention the challenges Rooney did and the dissent he showed too was worthy of a red but oh well it is finished now.

I said earlier that a fair result would have been a draw even though we were the dominant team I don't think either team deserved to win as I said.

The ref was fine really bar that run that Yaya went on where the play was pulled back for the foul. That was only a minor error though, because advantage play is at the referee's discretion anyway.

I can't really think of any other dodgy decisions from the ref. Tevez was lucky to not have been shown a second yellow. The disallowed goal should have stood, but that isn't the ref's fault, the assistant made that call.
