Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [8th - 12th September 2017]

It's not just his defending, Klavan's as wasteful in possession as Skrtel was. Just hoofs it forward and invites pressure on the team.

Klopp obviously has a boner for him because he's got absolutely no qualities that Klopp seems to look for in a defender.

Edit: And again, tackling Mignolet now :o

After seeing replays its a good call by the ref I think. Annoying as has killed the game though. :(
By the letter of the law it's a red. The reason why these types of reds always seem harsh is because they're not always given (rarely in fact) and because the attacker has little option - Mane has to go for the ball there and his only focus is the ball. One interesting thing Neville said was what would have happened had Mane got the ball - at the force Ederson was travelling, it would have been just as dangerous but I very much suspect a red wouldn't have been given.

Surely wouldn't cost much to find a better player than Klavan even if just for a season, awfully stubborn of Klopp when that position is without question the most lacking. Even Matip doesn't look convincing as often as fans would like.

Just watched the Mané red card incident, absolutely a red card, it's either obviously dangerous or if you want to play the "he's looking at the ball" card it's just wildly reckless and completely braindead.

Neville is starting to annoy me about the red. He keeps going on about hypotheticals about if Ederson had not got the ball first. Well he did and nearly got his head kicked off.
