A climate march. A great idea right now.
Most adults just don't like seeing children exploited for political purposes, if they have an argument give us the science (excluding artificial computer models) rather than acted out speeches about how we'll all die if we don't act immediately (ie. hand over more national powers to international socialism). Nearly every scaremongering prediction the ice age/global warming/climate emergency movement has ever made has never come to pass hence their need to continually rebrand it. It's just the same sort of project fear rubbish we've seen with Brexit, only the bed wetters (and children who don't know any better) fall for it over and over again.

Is that based on your "Id"?. . . I frankly worry for her. . . .
The planet may be billions of years old (despite what the Bible is alleged to assert) but an awful lot has changed since the Industrial Revolution.. . .
On the question of "the science", I've not seen enough of it yet. The planet is billions of years old, our records are a grain of sand on a beach of history. For me , its far too early in planetary terms for any claims of apocalypse. Not that I particularly think avoiding human extinction is the priority anyway, many of the protestors I see are talking about how its the threat of their extinction that they are concerned about, not the planet itself but them. Doesn't really matter a toss if humanity is wiped out, another species will simply rise and take up the mantle of dominant species, as it has done time and time again in the past millions of years.
If you are really interested (which I doubt) , you could always start satisfying your curiosity with Wikipedia and I believe that her Mother has written a book called "Scenes from the Heart"?I wonder what Greta is like at home . . .
Has she come up with any original thinking or ideas of her own yet?
I'll look forward to that - EVEN from the wrong side of the PenninesI need to get into something like this, call me William Warrior - The Yorkshire Way.
I think that I can understand and sympathise with someone who cares for the future of humanity rather than just saying "Sod it, I aim to enjoy myself to the max because I really couldn't care less who inherits the Earth when I am gone."

It may not matter particularly to you, but despite her current fame and her determination to highlight the dangers of climate change, Greta Thunberg may have some psychological problems - still, that is no reason not to stand at the back of the room and make fun of some harmless person you have never met and about whom you admit to knowing absolutely nothing, is it?

Yes, a book deal, a film of her life, T-Shirts, Mugs and a Key ring. She'll never work a day in her life.

Indeed you are, even if your assertion that she is "purely used as a megaphone" is unsupported and is founded on irrational prejudice and perhaps even a touch of envy.Who's making fun of her?
It's clear she's purely used as a megaphone, she's been used, this is my opinion and I am entitled to my opinion.
Why does she need to? Govts enforce policy not this girl, she is raising awareness and doing it very well.
