Greta Thunberg

Well I bet 'oilprice' are completely unbiased and have no vested interest in the continued use of Fossil fuels.

The article says " her carbon footprint is likely smaller than most." which is a bit different to @arknor saying it's "bigger than most"

The thing with the boat pilots needing to fly back - Did Greta know that would be needed, or was that decision made by somebody else and therefore taken completely out of her hands?

Also they've said in the article that trains in the UK and europe can run on electric or diesel, they have handily assumed all the trains she is taking are running on diesel.....Unlikely methinks

One of the worst carbon footprint hypocrites for me is Prince Harry.

She has a crew of people following her around the world, they are jetting everywhere. The whole "zero emissions" travel thing is an image created for the press.

We've now gone down that hole :)

It's basically Greta and her Dad, who she meets when she gets somewhere she's been invited isn't down to her.
There are paparazzi everywhere, there would be 1000s of pictures of her being non 'zero emissions' and yes she is going to slip up.
"OMG she's just had some tomatoes out of a plastic bag".

Who do you think is filming her exploits? There is a film crew and editors. She is basically a brand.

her carbon foot print is bigger than most of the people she preaches too aka hypocrite

Does it matter? how can she get the message out without traveling and speaking to people?

If the message was don't kill otters and she turned out to be a mass otter killer that's different

Greta was, and still is, a terrible ambassador for environmental initiatives. She has no weight of authority at all, vs someone like Attenborough. Or anyone involved in actual climate science, research and development.

Why, pray tell, are people looking to a child when the entire freaking future is at stake. She knows nothing and can do nothing. She is just a PR wet dream, nothing more.

It's frustrating and stupid that world leaders will make time to listen to Greta. Anyone with any sense knows this is yet more PR. It's easy to do. You can listen her moaning and have literally no ambition to anything to help. But being in the same room as her and listening to her scream, "How very dare you!" plays well with the public.

Because people are suckers for marketing and PR. Greta is a distraction and represents the insanity of pretending to care whilst the world literally burns, and we do nothing. Greta is the embodiment of the illusion that world leaders care, when they don't. Or at least, not as much as they care about GDP. She is a good photo op, like the one above.

The Greta protectors are in full tonight, what a bunch of wet wipes.

Solutions, solutions, solutions or get back in your corner poppet.

The grown men getting upset by an autistic teenager are in full tonight, what a bunch of wet wipes :)

and just FYI I've got the worst footprint ever, I'm never ever going to do anything she says, I even flush wet wipes down the toilet.
I'm just amazed some of you believe the crap spewed about her and still get upset about 'How dare you' :)

lol true.. i mean, i have not seen a group get so riled up about a child.... wonder how many have put half the energy in pressing their respective governments.

Yeah , sure she is a poster child , but then i also believe she truly cares about the environment. All the keyboard warriors and their snarky comments here will be forgotten and history will remember her. Nothing needs to be done to defend here.

Are people not allowed to criticise your beloved Greta without being labelled as 'crying' or upset'?

Seems like a narrow minded attitude to take.
