I don't see me buying any dlc for this game tbh!

I like playing bonnet view and on this game it's just horrendous with no real control and still seems slow, out car view is more fun but then you get no sense of speed. Dirt3 is in a different league to this game for game play.
 
Im kind of liking this game - apart from crashing out into windows three times in the first hour (and the first time it corrupted the autosave file).

I am finding the first few cars too loose in the back, and while I completed the first "overtake" race fairly easily, I find it annoying that there is no way of telling how many points gap there is between 1st and 2nd etc

Does look good though
 
F'sake, 2 minutes and steam is already making me want to launch laptop out of the window.

Just cannot use these kind of programs....
 
Finally managed to login and 'activate' it.

What a task that was. Said i had to login with my ps3 or something, anyway sorted now i think.
 
I quite like it, not bad at all, i dont mind the handling, love throwing it around.

Ive got 2 gtx670 in sli, if i have setting on ultra at 2560x1440 , the frame rate drops to 50 ish fps now and again, if i set it to high its ok, constant 60 or above,id say its quite demanding on graphics, others say its not.

Bad things

1 i want to turn the flashback thing off, the writing, yes i know i can use flashback !!!
2 turn the commentator man off, or i wish the music wouldnt lower in volume when he speaks.
3 i want to turn driver name tags off above the car !
4 the text chat box we had in grid ,bring it back
 
ive done the cam mod on race department, makes it a bit better, i chose mod 4

MOD1: Cam Heights raised.

A simple and quick mod to raise the position of the bumper camera and both chase camera positions.
I found the default bumper camera a little to close the the ground for my play style.
I also found that both of the chase cameras felt a little low for me obscuring the view ahead of the track.
This mod changes the bumper camera height of all cars to 1.0000
and changes both chase camera heights of all the cars to 2.0000



MOD2: Cam Heights Raised + Cam FX OFF

This mod turns OFF most of the camera special effects.



MOD3: Cam Heights Raised + Cam FX ON + No Chase Cam Lag or Roll.

This mod turns ON most of the camera special effects.
This mod turns off the lag and roll of the camera when using chase cam view,
this makes driving in chase view more like bumper cam mode and I personally find that
it makes driving your car more precise as it is easier to line your car up with the
apex of corners more accurately.

TO INSTALL:-

Choose what mod you want.
Copy the 51 folders found in the MOD folder you picked into GRID 2's cars/models directory overwriting the original folders.

If you find that you dont like the mods simply copy the 51 folders found in the CAR CAMERA ORIGINAL FILES directory
back into GRID 2's cars/models directory overwriting all of the mod files.
 
Ive done a few beginning races and the handling is so weird. You break into the corner and presented with a drift which I try to correct and end up with a lovely tank slapper.

Going to take some work to master this i think.
 
There is a difference between the cars. I have just been using a 4WD Golf and it takes a lot more to get it to slide. It also 4 wheel slides as a 4WD car does. I'm starting to enjoy it more although I only play for about 30 mins at a time.
 
Awesome game! My MSI GX660R lappy is managing to handle it at 1920x1080 on high settings and 4xAA. Notched it down to 2xAA as it can jump a bit when doing a overtake Promo (with all the 4x4's)

Still, the game looks very nice.

Yet to play online. Please add me rybo89cfc :)
