GRID Autosport

game is amazing... i pld grid 1 a lot... played grid 2 at a friends and turned it off after few hours.. however grid autosport is awesome.. dont use cockpit cam.. prefer 3rd person view on racing games!


online play is brilliant with 6-7 lads on teamspeak!
 
Cockpit cam doesn't look detailed but to be honest it does the job of cockpit cam, its not as if you look around the cockpit after the first 5 minutes of playing the game. You usually go oooo shinyyyyyyyy then keep your eyes on the road and it just becomes part of the peripheral vision.

Of course you can, although it wasn't clear you hadn't actually played the game when you were making comments on how it had got worse. Either way this is a big improvement over the sliding show that was Grid 2 and the best racing game I have played on the pc with a controller.

Running this maxed with 8XCSAA and getting a smooth as butter 60fps v-synced at 1920x1200 using the following;

Core i7 3820 @ 4.5GHz, 16GB RAM @ 2000Mhz, Gigabyte X79 UD5, GTX 680 MSI PE @ Lightning clocks, Crucial M4 SSD.

Using the in game benchmark I got this output with the above settings;

min_fps="55.589649" max_fps="81.751884" av_fps="68.796745


If you're going to buy it though get it from CD keys (link in my previous post), it's a tenner cheaper than Steam and activates fine.

Yep ended up getting the Black Edition for £18 worth a punt at that price.

When the game is working it does look stunning on max settings, it's sooooo much better than Grid 2.

I agree though, the cockpit cam is a bit half assed by CM, it looks nothing like Shift in that respect. I tend to use bonnet cam though.

Anyone know if there's any mods yet to completely disable the HUD?

the texture pack is for 4k monitors otherwise you can't tell.
I guess it's just to keep the textures looking the same as they do now but on a bigger resolution
 
anyone else had a problem where the 2nd monitor display is just black screen?

Works fine if i Alt+Enter to go into windowed but once i go back to full screen 2nd monitor just goes black again.

Mildly annoying :p

and whos up for a ocuk race tonight say 10pm?

think for that we all have to log onto the racenet part of the multiplayer menu btw
