i got a 60 warrior and a 70 mage as well as some other lower levels.

would they be any use to you?

Meh you wouldnt have anything against players from Portsmouth would you ? :)

What nights and times do you usually raid ? The guild I'm in has too many people from outside the UK so the 1900 start times are too early as I work in Hursley and the M3/M27 can be a pain in the arse at times.

Hah, course not. We couldn't give a toss about football :p as far as we're concerned Portsmouth is great because it holds the second best computer store in England, a name I shall not mention (next to OCUK of course!) :o

We normally raid later too, as we've all got to get back from work. Normally about 8.

We have alternate 10 man groups and are aiming for a 25. So between the two groups we raid 6 nights a week, 3 a piece. One's Monday/Wednesday/Sunday the other is Tuesday/Thursday/Fri or Sat. Players pick dependent on personal circumstance. Although the Mon/Wed/Sun tends to progress further.

Prot warrior is the only tank we don't have, and could really do with due to their badass MT-ness.
 
Sounds like a plan then, not sure exactly when i would be transferring though, best case a couple of days, worst case two weeks or so.

Sure. I did start and Undead Warrior the other day on my server so I think I will roll one on yours. Any preference to which race? I had an Orc Warrior the first time I played the game a few years back. Got him to lvl35. I know Durotar and the Barrens like the back of my mind so it will only take a days playing to get to the late 20's early 30's.

I dont tend to do Instances though, is it worth it for some greens? Or best to lvl up asap and hope to come accros some on my travels?
 
tauren is the most recommended for a prot warr due to the higher base health, although not a huge difference. other than that an orc would be the best imo :).

I would probably go with Orc as I have said just, I can quickly go through the early parts of the game quite easily.,
 
I think dungeons are a waste of time whilst levelling. Might be an idea from 70-80 just in case there are some particularly good items that will help you in the 80 Dungeons, but otherwise just power through the quests.

From my experience, the xp from dungeons Using pugs way outstrips quest levelling even using the quest addons, with the added bonus of great gear drops. I think a mix of everything though is best for a happy levelling experience.
 
I agree with doing both.

pugs can be either great fun, you end up in a great group and go on to do one after the other or its as painful as sticking pins in your eyes!!

I have a L70 DK (deathhp) in the guild if anyone wants to get a 5 man together and do some instances?

By that I mean doing 5+ one after the other.

Bear in mind here that when the next expansion is released the racial abilities are being evaluated to scale with the goblin/worgen race.

In other words they could change completly.

it's too early to think of the changes in cata tbh in regards of race choice :) we're still far away from that.

simple -

Arms until you get to duel wield 2handers, which is around level 58 IIRC -> from there you change to fury all the way to 80... then either stay fury for DPS and prot as OS or something :)
