mine are now about 6 inches tall.

red and white how big are your final pots? mine are in the pots i posted above, do them seem big enough? there are bout 3-4 inches accross.

and, are you giving them any feed?

i read on one site that you should use diluted tomato feed. most of mine are getting dried up bits at the ends of their leaves and i dont know why.

think my pots are 10cm across. i cant remember exactly now. i'll post a pic later.

im feeding them with tomato food once a week now, hey got their first feed 2 weeks ago. you dont have to do it that regularly mind. . if they are getting the dry bits it means they need feeding

Dry tips on leaves on most houseplants doesn't mean they need watering but that the leaves need to boe moistened, get a plant spary and give them an occasional squirt.

My Chillies have been on my window sill since day one and they are about 2" tall now and really begining to take off as it warms up. Never grwon them before so I'm hoping for some beginers luck, I think I'll put one outside when it properly warms up and keep the others as house plants.

My contribution

Well here are some Jalapenos I have been growing for a few months... I am a complete noob anything plant related but wanted to show them off all the same.

I think I need to repot these... any other advice welcome ! :D

You don't need to repot those - they're just getting going!

I would make sure that they grow straight up (rotate the pot 90 deg each morning).

They're looking healthy!

Good.

That effect is what they mean by 'leggy'. The plant can't hold it's own weight and if not corrected early the stem will harden at those awkward angles. Once the fruit laiden the weight then tips the plants over..

mine seem to be seriously unhappy at the lack of warmth or sunlight for a couple of weeks, and haven't done much. I do now have some proper chilli fertilizer (which I imagine is no different to tomato, cactus, etc, fert but in a box that says chilli and priced accordingly :o) which I hope will make them really go for it when its sunnier again.

Highly recommend peach habaneros for novices - they are our first chilli and indeed indoors-grown plant, and they're full of energy.

SiHH - your plants look great. I have a huge chilli plant growing in the same size pot as you, it's probably now outgrown it, but still very big + healthy. Leave it a month or so before considering repotting.

couple of questions

1/ im doing a proper water once a week, filling the tray their in with about 2cm of water with tomato feed and spraying the leaves twice a day with water/tomato feed mix, is this enough/not enough?

B/how long do they take to start flowering? i think ive had them about a month now.
