GS5 to launch in January

I would like a Samsung galaxy. The plastics puts me off however. If I'm going for a premium phone worth around £500, I don't expect plastic.

I'm still on an iPhone 4. I feel it's worth waiting until next year now to see what the new phones are like.

Nexus 5/Lumai's/HTC One X are all plastic and are all very premium, plastic is used to make bullet proof vest, I don't those are cheap or anything.

Complaining that plastics makes poor build quality is just mindless sheep droning.

90% of people who have iPhones stick it in a plastic case anyway, the rest of the 10% have broken screens

I never used a case when I had an iPhone and it was pristine. My HTC One S (metal) is dented to buggery but the screen is fine :p

How come we don't have a ****************** SUPER OFFICIAL OFFICIAL GS5 OFFICIAL THREAD OFFICIAL ********************* yet?

Because you have just used the remainder of the 2013 asterisk allotment for the forums

The 3 weakest areas of the S4 IMO were the camera, design and battery.

It needs OIS and big pixels/sensor, needs a plush design and a 3000+mAh battery.

Instead we get useless res bump to 2560 - Zzzzzzzzz....

Nobody knows naff all about the S5 yet though to be drawing pitchforks just yet.

People complain about plastic but just because it is cheap does not mean it isn't the best material to use. It is light and flexes to absorb energy when dropped.

My complaint isn't because it's plastic; that's never bothered me. It's the coating they use, it's rubbish and chips/rubs off far too easily.

It's not going to be curved.

It'll have the same back as the Note 3 and it will still be made out of plastic. It will have a slightly bigger screen, but still 1080p (2K is perhaps the only possible change from the Note 3) and it will have a Snapdragon 800 processor.

Every year, Samsung basically take the Note 3 and shrink it down a bit. I suspect we'll get metal on the Note before we get metal on the S.
