GT5 Japan release date

I just don't understand their thinking on this. They have said they could release the game at any moment as its all finished.

They would have made a killing if they had released this before christmas.

They'll make a killing anytime unfortunatley :(

Which basically gives them the right to do what they want.

I am quickly coming to the assumption that PD consists of 1 guy in his bed room writing the current GT games.

It would explain the time its taken.

Am sure I saw a video of there studios, place is a dump, I was expecting some crazy tokyo style office with them riding around on segways. I wouldnt be suprised if they just lost the computer they did the code on and keep having to start again!

ps, it's beyond a joke now, I dont think they want to release it personally, it will never live up to out expectations from taking THIS long.

It was never going to be released this year anyway so was always expecting a middle of next year/Christmas release

Will be worth the wait though :)

Well since GT4, PD have made Toursit trophy, GTHD, GT5P,GT PSP and now making GT5 so i guess they havent all been sat around doing nothing lol.

Just for the record the March date has not been dated for a single region or Japan as the thread is titled. It could and likely will mean a worldwide release time frame. Also at E3 I remember that guy is it Jack stood up at E£ and said "all the games we are showing today will be out by end of fiscial year" that included GT5 and GOW3 of course.

As for GT typically it would release in Japan in Dec then USA/Europe between 3-5 months later if based on previous releases, so its further reason to believe like the PSP version they will go more for a worldwide release.

Fiscal year would be end of March ( for 95% of companies who dont use Dec31st) so that would be right ;)

I kind of wonder as there was so much pointing towards a 2009 release that something made PD alter the schedule. Perhaps the damage wasnt good enough or even they looked at the competition (for once) and decided they needed to add extra features etc. Its not ideal in any sense but only a fool would release a game as important as this to Sony, PD, and even the Motor industry without making it as feature complete and as good as it can be.

well as pd neither gave a release date for gtm or even officialy announced its exstence until this year then i wouldnt blame them for your premature purchase.

Is there only a handful of people working at PD?, every gran turismo game seems to take 4 times longer than any other game to make.

Completely lost interest now. What a bunch of tools.

Same here, I have not played GT5P in months and don't really see myself playing it either.

I much preferred Forza 2 to it and obviously F3 is imminent.

Saying that it will still sell by the warehouse load and the reviewers will say its the best thing ever.

I tried GT5P again last week but after 2 laps I couldn't be bothered anymore and stopped, it felt slow and no fun at all and that was driving a F430 around Suzuka, not even a Suzuki Cappucino on an oval.

I can't get hyped for GT5... there's nothing to get hyped about but the benchmark set by their previous games. This is what's irritating.

Maybe the Japanese release means we can getit fast and furious style, overnight parts from... japan.

:D:D

The same thing happened with previous GT games iirc. Release strongly hinted at and then announced for the fourth quarter. Game then actually rocks up at the tail end of spring (if you're lucky :P). I think with GT4 it did actually make it to Japanese shelves for the festive period though.

PD are probably playing Forza 3 instead of finishing their own game :p
