GT86/GR86/BRZ

But sound epic ;)

I'm resonated Cobra catback, but catless UEL manifold with stock 2nd cat. It's right on the limit for what I'd consider a daily. Literally any more and I'd lose the will to live, but if you get a tunnel or underpass... can't help but downshift and floor it :D

Any video clips of it? :)

Keep changing my mind about what setup I want, 100% a Catless UEL Mani but not sure what else

There’s a couple of kids that have just been released. No figures on them yet, in fact there’s very little info whatsoever bar a video clip of one on a dyno being revved...

Look forward to seeing their potential, I'm curious to see how much gains they put out, I'd imagine it'll only be 30-40hp region but for the noise it seems worth it! :P

Planning on making the 3 hour drive down to RRG Macclesfield to get my springs done, no way am I going to take it to a local dealer, I've seen two other 86's there in the last year and I go past every weekday so highly doubt they have much experience with them.

Gonna chuck some spark plugs in too whilst it's out ideally, only on 35k miles but at 6 years next year, may aswell do it now.

My vents have started making loud noise, sounds like something is stuck in the fan I think. The sound is a bit like those things kids used to stick on their BMX spokes to make it sound like a motorbike lol

I'm hoping I can just drop the blower out of the housing and remove whatever it is.

Did you fix this?

May be similar to this one: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=125947

I've noticed since I enabled that shift indicator it does that "calibration" sequence before starting, a bit annoying having to wait for that to finish before you can see temp & fuel.

(I know about the pressing the button to see fuel when the car is stopped :P)

Can only hope that they'd use new/nearly new engines, can't imagine there'd be enough older ones to go around.

On another note, anyone know what courtesy cars RRG Macclesfield generally hand out for 86 owners? :P

They do similar price bracket if you demand it... A Prius.

Much better than the Yaris Hybrid, but I'm beginning to like the Aygo after months of torture. Stick a tank of super in it and it feels more responsive.

Think I'd rather get the bus back than drive a Prius!

Was hoping I'd be able to be cheeky and ask to test drive a Hilux, always wanted to see if I'd like driving something like that.

Spoke to my local dealer today (Although I'm not going through them for the recall) and they said they've received some documents about it but still waiting for a training course date for 2 of their mechanics to go on before they can start to proceed.

I wonder if I can coincide the repair with my major service and get any kind of discount, due to get that done anytime now. I believe it's the expensive £600 one.

My local dealer said they'd pile in the £600 service into the recall for me if I took it there to save me some money. I'd imagine most places will do the same as it means they're still making some money I'd imagine.

Still taking it to RRG Macc though.

I've uploaded the PDF for the Recall Repair Procedure here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/anmlc3zqtkncxiu/Valve Spring Recall.pdf?dl=0

(Hopefully I'm allowed to share that here?)

Seems like we get a free aircon re-gas which saves the best part of £100-200 with the gas used in the 86.

Also, new drop links it seems.

They're only letting techs with an Expert or Master certification carry out the repairs which is a little relieving to know.

What spec levels do these come in? I thought there was just a base spec?
What are the options to go for? Looking into these for a toy in the future.

As Nasher said above, anything before the facelift (2012-2016) you'll find they're all essentially the same model with the exception for the Primo (Poverty spec with no keyless entry or HID's etc) or the Aero (Same as standard just with a few aero kit bits and bobs like a wing)

Most will vary between having Cloth, Half Leather or Full Leather seating, Satnav, Parking Sensors and the rare few have reverse cameras.
