GTA 4 Mod which will leave you speechless

No ones are ever like stock, it's like the maker has photoshopped the screenies to make everyone download it so he gets high number of downloads.

probably... even the youtube videos dont look that impressive unless there in a tiny embeded window on a forum.. once u watch them in full screen at 720p they look pretty crap.

i guess you really need to download the 4gb hi res textures pack or however big it is these days and combined with that mod you might end up with something that looks like the screenshots in the first post
 
aye they look like they've been enhanced and rendered further.

Just tried it in the night and the graphics look pretty decent.

my candy white scoob really comes out in the night lol

Looks good,better than the normal look anyway.

I wish they had made the mod an Installer so you can just install it rather than having to faff around with files,I downloaded the mod and i dont have a clue where to start.

You just extract the file and copy the files over to your root gta installation folder, easy peasy! :p
 
It's not the same one as the OP it's an older version by a different person I think.

It's just that and nothing else though no other mods.
 
Impressive for an older game. I only just got a machine setup that can play normal max settings though

They did a high res mod like this for HL2 as well, was like 30gb to download
 
Can someone help a noob, please? In the OP pics I'm seeing crazy awesome looking hi res textures, real life cars etc etc. Are they a part of this mod or are they other mods you have to download individually and faff about with? Is this mod just the rendering effects or something?

They downscale them using super-sampling where in reality the textures are more washed out and there's more aliasing.

If there are high resolution textures, it's usually from a different pack (the one I downloaded a while ago was close to 7GB iirc).

Real life cars are individual models replacing existing cars.

That is insane! I did try using this "ENB" a few months ago and it messed up my GTA...I didnt find it an easy mod to apply...prob did something wrong. But I have the game looking decent now with Patch 4 so I think Ill play safe and leave it. These shots are insane though and I know one day I'll try again!

as you can see it looks a lot and i mean a lot! better.
and im playing on a 720p moniter with shadows off <--- (no that noticable for me) and everything else set to veryhigh and the sliders at about 25 on each to stop lagg :) the game is perfectly playable for me.


And as you can see the mod also adds AA :P

You won't be able to find one in stock GTA :p it's a mod car, Subaru Legacy B4.

Been testing it out more and it is very sensitive to different lighting, for some reason it starts to go grainy after playing for around 5 mins.

Night water scene is very grainy

Never looks as good as screenies make out. I tried one of those the other month, just made everything too bright and then it broke the sky :/

Certainly looking forward to GTAV, hope it isn't gimped too much
