GTA 6 leaks

I see there's been some fresh leak suggesting we might see a trailer on the 23rd of October with an expected release date of October 2024, GTA V was originally revealed on October 25th 2011 so the timing would seem to be broadly right albeit it didn't then release for another 2y ears.
I bloody hope so, its been far too long since GTA V!

I expect I'll need to pickup a Series X for this if the usual delayed release on PC happens again

Some random Forbes article has suggested the games retail price may be very high, potentially as much as $150 on release. I’m sure some will pay it anyway, but I’m not sure I could stomach paying £120 or so for what could be a base game with micro transactions and paid for expansions in the future as well.

That's bonkers, pure corporate greed. I've given up trying to defend / blame R* / Take-Two; both as bad as each other at this point.

Absolutely no way I would pay that much for any game.

Pure corporate greed is the Take Two way. They’ve released GTAV four times across four different platforms or generations of consoles, shelved any campaign DLC for more online stuff they could push shark cards onto and have delayed VI for years to milk V for all its worth.

Could that be for some sort of deluxe edition? Double the price for a poster, printed map and mini plastic golden knuckle dusters?

It's hard to blame them tbh as people keep buying it. The GTA5 single player experience is arguably one of the best ever and the online experience somewhat unique, at least for console players. You can do anything! Be a racer, a pilot, a murderer, a gangster or even just live some kind of role playing second life and watch tv in your luxury apartment or yacht. The fact it is still selling tells you that.
If new purchasers want to play online then unless they are willing to grind in a group for hours on end then they will buy shark cards such is the massively slanted economy of that game. You need an Oppressor to counter the threat of an Oppressor and I read the price has recently gone up to $8m but to buy one you first need that big truck that I've forgotten the name of to keep it in and a bunker to keep your truck in! :D

I 100% completed GTA5 years ago on the original PS3 version. Had my fill from that and had absolutely no interest in buying and playing it again on newer consoles. I'm more than ready for GTA6 now!

I love the GTA games, have played them since the top down versions on the PS1 (or was it 2?). I don't like the way Take2/Rockstar treat some modders though. The GTA 5 vr mod was effectively banned by them. It used no assets from the game and you needed a legit version of the game to play the latest version of the vr mod. Also the recent chatGPT AI mod that let's you have real conversations with NPC's was taken down by them. These were 2 mods i really liked. Why were they taken down?

Because Take Two will remove anything they think they can make money from in the future.

I see Rockstar just got pulled up about using pirated copies of their own games.

Because they tied down their own games in so much DRM measures, it meant when it came to re-releasing them on modern platforms they didn't know how to unlock their original files. So instead they chose to use cracked versions.

I'll buy GTA 6 no matter how much it is. As some others have said, I've played them since the start. Though they are becoming abit overly politically correct in the past couple of years. I hope that doesn't mean they are going to be holding back too much in GTA 6.

It's not greed though is it. It's clearly what the people want or it wouldn't sell. The fact people keep buying it means they want it, they're literally giving people what they want.
Else it wouldn't sell and they wouldn't rerelease it again.

They didn't release ANY DLC for GTA V though so how could they know if it would've been popular or not? Every time they put the work into V for a new platform it delayed VI from release even further. GTA V was originally released in 2013, A decade ago. They've milked this to death and continue to do so. The only new game released by Rockstar since V's original release is RDR2. If some of the rumours are true GTA VI might not be released until 2025.

Unless you work for rockstar or have some insider info you cannot make that claim.

Also for your claim to be true the critical path of game developement would need to be coding resource. I doubt that is the case.

No chance will I pay that.

Politically correct? I must have missed that. Unless you mean when Trevor kidnaps that blokes wife and forces her to live in a trailer with him as husband and wife. Then changes his mind and gives her back just as the Stockholm syndrome is kicking in. :D
