GTA V Multiplayer thread (360, XBOX ONE, PS3 and PS4)

Im just standing in a car park with some other players around me, spinning circle saying its launching session....nearly 5 mins of that now lol.
 
So whats it like, how does it work?
Any decent articles explains how online works. I assume theres no story-lines. Just random missions, which you'll need to form a group for to do things like heist. Can you pretty much case any shop and plan a heist?

There is sort of storyline. But, its more like your introduced to people and are a lot less involved than on the singleplayer campaign.

You can form a group or tackle most missions on your own.

There's a handful of shops to rob however, heists arent available yet. People are speculating that an individual would need an apartment to begin planning the heist.nwhich aren't apart of the game yet.
 
Haven't really had chance to play online. It took me an hour to do the tutorial as I had to dashboard 4 times due to the game just freezing on a loading screen.
I was also quite annoyed that other people were able to kill me when I was trying to finish the tutorial :mad:
 
Not tried to get on much today because I knew what it'd be like, thought I'd give it a go now though and just spent the past 45 minutes getting the "unable to host etc etc" message. Will try again tomorrow at some point.
 
all the people having problems. which console are you trying it on. not to start a stupid war. does it have anything to do with xbox having a more robust online service ( at least they should as you pay for it ? )
 
I'm going to give it another try tomorrow, it deleted my character after a failed attempt to find a game. Then I made a new character but couldn't get into any games, bit annoying that there are so many issues at the moment with server capacity but I imagine it will be fixed soon.
 
I managed to get in and play for a couple of hours tonight. My thoughts so far:

- When in free roam the city feels very empty, less peds and less cars, it just felt dead

- The rally mode is awful unless you're with someone who had a headset, or can at least hear you. I was shouting out instructions and the guy was driving in the wrong direction. I eventually invited him to voice chat and he could hear me, so we made it to the end after a LONG time

- Last team standing is crap because it takes so long to load between rounds

- Races are fun, but it feels like there's lots of rubber banding. Also, it sometimes felt like my car wasn't going full speed, as if I was only holding half throttle, and I have no idea why. I noticed in the options there's one for 'catchup', and I wondered whether this cripples the people at the front of the race. If so, ridiculous.

I feel like this will only be fun when playing with a group of people you know, or just fun people who want to play together and chat.

All in all, I can't see me playing this past a few weeks, but I hope I'm wrong, I have no doubt I'll have fun on it, but at the moment my initial impressions aren't so great.
