Same, I made my new character in the other slot.
The original (lost character) slot still remains empty.

Shame you can't mute them whilst in the lobby waiting for a race/dm/mission etc. to start. It's very annoying.
 
some people have had no problems with online, myself included although I did have problems connecting when it first came out.
back down to around $90k after spending around $500k, now it's taking forever to get much money.
Is their any word on heists being put into online and security trucks? leister said a long time ago that I should look out for them, but haven't seen any yet.
 
Mines generally fine but I find myself getting timed out or you were kicked by other players when I join deathmatches or races and they click launch session, if I host my own it works fine. NAT type is fine on the PS3 as well, hoping it's something that still needs fixing on Rockstars end.
 
Bah, I saw that I had odds of 22/1 in a 16 player race so thought I'd bet the full $2500 on myself. Cue me getting rammed on the first straight and ending up 13th. Luckily there was carnage ahead and I somehow managed to claw my way back up until I was 2nd half way through. A battle of the slipstreams commenced and I managed to get into 1st for a while, however I had to swerve to avoid traffic and ran a fraction wide of the checkpoint. I ended up 3rd but was so close to winning $55k from one race.
 
You just need to put yourself in a position where you're not going to get hit in the rear tire, it's not too hard with shifting about and varying speed to avoid it.

Had a couple of great races last night with 2 randomers, we'd done a few races so we all knew we were trying to **** each other up. We all played chicken to see who would go for it first while the other two hunted him down :D

I need to know this.Really want to play but after having 2 characters lost in 2 days it's putting me off playing.I'd probably play if I knew I was getting my level 19 back at some point then I could play and if I get characters deleted I could at least make some money and bank it for later.

Why is it taking forever to get money? Is it that it just seems like it or actually is? as you don't earn much money as it is so if it reduces further going to be more grind than fun :(

The trucks are in there, I came across one the other day but it only paid 1.5k so doesn't seem worth the hassle. The heists aren't though, I was reading something the other day (typically I now can't find it) about what house you need for heists (didn't find specific answer) and someone quoted a release from R* saying about the update with some clothing other things and suggesting heists would come in that update. Though I wonder if it has been delayed due to them having to sort the servers out.

Edit: Found the article about it again but just announces R* plans to release updates, one of which will include the heists in the first few weeks of release. Though does go on to say time lines may change and no dates have been given that I have found.

Felon and Baller are the best cars to sell.

In free roam don't just go around killing and getting killed as you lose money quickly doing it, I lost 10k within 5 minutes last night in a moment of carnage.

Last but not least replay missions that have a good payout, I haven't done this yet as it would bore me to tears and I don't want to rush my way through progression.

Had a really productive night a few days ago, then had a random disconnect from PSN/R*'s servers and lost all my progress from that evening :(

I'm not gonna bother until they confirm it's been resolved.
