I keep getting 'connection to download server lost... reconnecting'
I hazard a guess that Rockstar didn't anticipate on how many would be buying GTAV.
Got the DL then i was greeted by this.
Great, had the whole thing now i'm back to 35gb, pathetic!, and what's the default installation folder again?.
C/program files/rockstar games/gtav or something to that effect. I'm having the same issues.
Here's a thought, what we are currently downloading is on torrent sites.....so technically could you download it from there, and it would work the same as doing it via the rockstar client?

Seems like I'm one of the luckier people to have downloaded from Rockstar. It did take a long time to get the 60.04GB (the pause/resume trick worked when needed today) but I've not had any issues with the download resuming from an earlier point. Might seem silly but are people pausing the download before closing the launcher? I made sure to do that just because it seemed "safer".
My download from rockstar has given up the ghost and reverted back to 5gb and is showing a server connection so im going to stop it for now.
Would there be an issue using the CJSkeys preload torrent to get the files so many are trying to get directly from rockstar?

Refund process in progress with CJS, totally unacceptable ! I would wait if they'd got in touch & said there would be a delay.
I'm going to pay the extra £8.50 & bag it with steam, seems a better way reading the problems with R*SC.

Yeah I left mine running the other day and it went just fine, although when I did go to launched it today, it downloaded another 1-2gb, can't remember how much exactly.
I assume it was just an update, or something that I missed the first time round?

To all the people considering torrenting the game:
There are about 10ish torrents currently offering the game files, most are the unlocked RSSC files and uploaded by the big piracy groups. However speeds are kinda slow as most have a 1 to 10 seed to peer ratio.
CJs Keys are running an "official" torrent as they cannot host the files themselves due to size. Currently using that and getting fairly meh speeds (on a 500KB connection) whilst I wait for the pre order bonus to go away on steam.

First time in a long time I went with a retail version. I'm actually dreading installing the game. Does anyone know how many dvds the game comes on?

Christ 7 dvds. I can see me sitting for a hour installing it. The wait is still going to be worth it. I've never actually played gta 5 yet so it's all new ☺
I just started downloading the CJs Keys torrent now, getting 12.3mbps consistent so will have the preload files in about 45 minutes. Not bad for 43seeds.
I just hope it all works fine this way so I can bypass the R* servers!
CDkeys is doing it for £30.99, aside from that im not sure if there is anywhere else cheaper
