I don't mind the download speed, but what is frustrating is when it takes a year to download and suddenly you lost over half of it.

Been looking for something official from Rockstar but so far I don't think they've publicly acknowledged the issue.

Getting annoying now as it's consuming my entire internet, and after a restart I lost over 15GB which was an overnight haul.

Just an idea, could I not torrent it instead? Is Rockstar Social the only way we can download it?

I pray they install one close to me, just so I can download copious amounts of porn and then delete is after just because I can :D

I've now lost connection to the server host, must be getting battered.

I found it was easier to down the VPNGate route and it worked flawlessly. Glad it worked though!
 
I'm guessing this has been answered many times in this thread, but its too long for me to read atm,is it worth it for the multiplayer or not? Don't know anything about gtav multi or what the differences will be on pc
 
I've not experienced any problems downloading through Rockstar tbh. I don't have a particularly fast connection but its maxed it out most of the time, apart from a little slow down a few times during the evenings. Though I haven't obsessively watched it, because the game doesn't release until Tuesday and there is still plenty of time. Not as good an experience as steam, but its been fine.

I 100% agree. The extra £10 from steam would have saved this messing about.

Mine has finished downloading, the folder is 64gb, but the social club client looks like this:

Does this mean I need to start AGAIN? This is what happened earlier on and it removed about 40gb and started again.

You didn't pay £33, you paid £40, the fact you had steam credit didn't make the game £33 as you still had to use credit you'd have otherwise been able to spend on something else, that's man maths at it's finest that is :p

I've been lucky I guess, my download experience from Rockstar was totally painless - purchased it earlier in the week from GMG, immediately received a code, pre-load completed by the next morning. My internet connection is a fairly average 20mbit, too.
