Caved and ordered it for £30 - Not sure if it could be found cheaper without using VPN but my loss I guess - Got the $1.2 Mill bonus thing as well I think.

Now to see if it will download!

I'm sorry but what a stupid statement. So i have to buy it on steam? And i have to have a fast connection? Oh please.
Or be more patient. Or pay extra for decent speed, it's a simple choice really.

It's a simple thing really, I don't understand how a pc enthusiast can be on a sub 50 mbit connection anyhow... Even my mother has faster internet than that.

Hell, my mobile phone has a 50mbit 4G connection, then anything under that isn't acceptable for a home cable/fiber connection if you're a pc enthusiast imho.
You can afford a high end gaming pc, but can't be bothered to shell out enough to enter 2015 and get 100/200/500 mbit internet ?

Of course I don't have much positive to say about the R* servers, it is indeed a disgrace, but it was to be expected.

Depending on where you live quick connections may not even be available regardless of the price you're willing to pay.

i have 3 mb conection so best speed would be around 330kb/s in Ireland boradband is not good specially in smaller towns, 3 miles away 100 mb connection weird or what

It is only since August last year that anything over 7mbit has been available where I live, even now on fibre the fastest speed I can get is 25mbit.

There is simply nothing faster available to some of us.

I still know people who can only get a 1.5mbit connection due to where they live.

You have to be a troll. I have to have fibre internet to be an enthusiast? I don't choose where to live based off internet speeds. There is no 4G here, nor fibre.

What time of the day are you trying to DL the game as if the servers are USA based and its hammered by Americans it might DL faster if u can catch it when most are asleep say very early like 7am till about 11am. Just a idea I dunno if it will help but worth a shot. If you tried it very early in the morning and it didn't ah well.

Make more noise to the telecom providers then, 1.5 mbit, geez, thats the speed I had in 2002. It's 2015 now, most of the nation should have 4g cover, and at least 50+ mbit from the wall... Make some noise for fast internet for everyone so we can finally dump all the optical media from PC gaming :). If people would massively opt for fast internet everywhere, it'd be rolled out in no time. But people apparently don't care enough or don't want to pay for it which is a choice. The telecom providers have enough means to make it happen...

//And yes, R* are also a disgrace, I know, but, you get what you pay for.

That's also your own fault, for me it's a hard requirement, the next home I move into has to have KPN fiber avaiable so I can get 500 mbit :).

What a pathetic and ridiculous comment - most peoples internet speed is restricted by where they live not by how much they chose to spend on the connection. Almost nobody in the UK can get 200 or 500mbit internet.

I have 25mbit - it is the maximum possible connection speed where I live.

I left mine going over night, when I went to bad at around midnight it was sitting at about 450KB/s. When I woke up this morning it was showing an error message, I restarted the DL from about 50GB in and was getting around 6.5MB/s at 6:30am.

I found out from my time playing WoW that best time to download stuff like this is early on a Sunday morning.

He meant their servers with the payment remark I think. If you had speed issues maybe shelling out more for steam version would have helped you download it quicker? You shouldnt need to but steam does have praise for a lot of servers to choose from and generally can get most of your net maxed when doing new games and for a 60 gig game I think the extra was worth it tbh.

Still no use complaining its not like the game is out yet u still have 2 days.

You can't just blame the ISP's for that, if people put more pressure on them then you'd have better speeds, other countries just as big or bigger with smaller population densities are the proof of that, for example France and Sweden has faster net access than the UK... Hell even Romania does.

But I'm getting offtopic I guess, maybe start a different thread to continue this discussion ?
