I don't mean to get anybody's hopes up, but...

NVIDIA Claims 'Grand Theft Auto 5' Coming To PC This Fall

NVIDIA has been spilling some beans lately. First they confirmed the existence of a Microsoft Surface RT follow up, for which they’re handling processing duties (presumably a Tegra 4). Now, the company has given PC gamers a heaping helping of hope by flat-out stating that Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto V will release for PC this fall.

I Want To Believe (but I can't, for fear of being gullible and/or stupid :p)

Looking at past releases it really does seem like too much to ask for such a short delay. I still think we'll be looking at 6-9 months between PS3/360 and PC release.

i don't believe it will be out this year - not this close to the console release. of course i'd love to be wrong but at least i won't be disappointed when it doesn't happen.

The guy is a press officer? Probably using 6-12 month old information. If GTA V shipped earlier this year as planned, a fall release for the PC version would have been logical.

Thank god for that. Hopefully it will come sooner rather than later. I didnt fancy having to put up with playing a horrid console version.

Yeah no way I'm buying a 6 year old console to play this, I'll either wait for a PC or next gen release or won't play it at all.

They are 6 year old consoles, and they are showing their age plainly. It's like a trip in the wayback machine :p

It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't still want £200 for them new. And I've decided against a 2nd hand one given how loud the damn things can be. Plus the problems they can and do still develop, 2nd hand seems a bad call (most sellers want at least £100 for their 2-3 year old unit too).

So I'll wait I guess the 6-9 months. The bonus is that we should have a new gen of AMD cards out by then, and I should have my hands on a 9850 (or whatever they call them now).

I think it would spoil the game to try to play it on a PS3, with all the pop-up and/or fogging, texture compression, etc.

I bought a second-hand ps3 last month(160gb slim) and it is absolutely silent...I mean can't hear it at all.

I agree that it is really showing its age, and it does fee like a step down coming from PC, but the 3 games I have played so far have all been exceptional. The Last of Us was very high quality(and it looks incredible!), though console limitations were evident somewhat, and Metal Gear 4 didn't seem like it had aged at all...would have been happy with it being released today!

I probably will get GTAV for PS3, and then sell it as soon as I have finished it and get it on PC as well.

If this is true I bet Rockstar are fuming. They wanted everyone to double dip, I just need more slip ups of confirmation and I'll be cancelling my 360 order.

It's a bit of a lottery unless you buy in person. The 120/250 gb versions of the slim can be hoover loud (borrowing one atm). I hear the 160/320 are better, as are the super slim.

But I can't exactly phone up the seller and ask them to put the phone next to the unit :p

Agree about MGS4. I borrowed a PS3 just for this one game, and was pretty impressed with what they'd achieved technically. Although the game itself wasn't everything I'd hoped :p The plot was nonsense :D

I bought a 320GB from someone on the MM just before Christmas. Didn't seem to have been used much, it's incredibly quiet, much quieter than my old 40GB one which died and even that wasn't bad.

You can get the 12GB Super Slim model quite cheaply these days, then just stick a spare/cheap 2.5" drive in. Pre-owned ones of those are bound to be cheaper still, though personally I would (and did) go for a regular Slim model as the new ones just look cheap.

I still have my 360 which has red ringed 4 times, the last time I fixed it myself and it has been working properly for 4 years since.

Im mighty tempted to purchase it on the 360 but it would be a waste.

Just want to get my grubby mitts on it.

I've had my old 80GB for about 5 years or more... It sounds like a jet on it's last legs, and takes 10 mins to load playstation store now! It's on it's death bed, but still won't die!
